I'm reminded of Don McClean when I think of Howard Dean?
Edited on Wed Feb-18-04 06:13 PM by trumad
A long long time ago, I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe, they'd be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With ev'ry paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the door step
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I creid
When I read about this widowed bride
Something touched me deep inside
The day the music died, so

*Bye bye Miss American Pie
Drove my chevy to the levy
But the levy was dry
Then good old boys
Were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die

1. That sums it up beautifully.
I can't believe the number of people I have spoken to in the past 5 hrs or so that are truely heartbroken.

I wonder if people will just drift away and not give Dr. Dean's movement a chance to fly.

I wish with all my might that people will stay true to their values, and support Dr. Dean's next effort.

I will, will you?

2. I dunno.....
... personally, I think Buddy Holly's death (what this song is about)was more tragic than Dean's fall from grace. I've been a Dean supporter from early on and even sent the only campaign contribution I've ever made to him, but it is not to be at this time.

I don't think Dean is going to go quietly away, I think he will continue to exert a positive influence on our party. I guess I'll have to settle for that...
