New Tinfoilhat media conspiracy theory
Damn near every dirty illegal scandalous piece of garbage story about Bush or Bushies that we've been so pissed off that the media has ignored over the past three years is starting to surface.

Could those in the media who were privy to these scandals simply have been sitting on them in feigned deference to his Chimperial Heinous in order to start pounding the idiot son of an "A"hole constantly all the way through the election season?

:tinfoilhat:

It would be sweet revenge for the 2000 coup.

2. I think demand for the stories has increased.
The media is now tapping into the enraged, frothing-at-the-mouth-mad American market that has been slowly emerging over the past few years. We sounded our battle cry, the media is responding ever so reluctantly.

3. I think it's more than a theory.
Bush better hope that the media doesn't turn on him, and the signs of that occurring are growing. The AWOL press conference was just the beginning and may be a harbinger of doom for the Bush presidency.

We can only hope. Maybe the media is as tired of his BS as the rest of us are.

4. but... then what explains it all during the campaign for 2000?

$$$

they've - the $$$ elite - gotton what they wanted they could pull the plug on him anytime they want now... in fact it may be a good idea to cut your losses and SOLIDIFY your gains, PREVENTIVE WAR, UNILATERAL FOREIGN POLICY, PATRIOT ACT, HUGE OIL RESERVES (though not YET secure), TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH, CULTURE WARS (god, guns and gays), huge corporate smash-N-grabs, and no one has been BUSTED.

i know the neoCONs could keep goin-N-goin but the more sober ones are bound to look to securing thier gains and given the mood right now the movers-n-shakers probably are looking to CAPITALIZE ;->

but what the hell do i know... i'm just another consumer.

and so it goes...

peace

5.  I don't know much about the issues concerning big media
I admit to be really pretty ignorant about the issues of media deregulation, but I always have the sense that the media start getting tough whenever * administration has to issue a decision that will affect their industry. The last time they started getting snarky, it was over Plame and yellowcake, and those words in the SOTU. As it happens, the FCC was at that time making decisions about media ownership caps. Mikey Powell decided in favor of bigger media (except for the upstart Clear Channel, which had wanted to move into TV). Following this decision, they went all tame again.

Now Comcast wants to buy Disney. Sony and BMG are awaiting clearance. Don't know where Viacom stands, but there most be a reason besides moral outrage that little Mike wants to have hearings on Janet's Breast.

Bush is now opposed by most Americans and the media has realized it and is switching sides for ratings and sales.
