AP photo summary says it all (Bush docs)
...much more succinctly than the news wires:

The White House, seeking to end doubts about President Bush's Vietnam-era military service, unearthed pay records that eluded investigations for a decade. But the documents seem unlikely to put to rest questions that have resurfaced in an election year.

5. A copy of the microfiche
From the AP story:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=2&u=/ap/20040210/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_military_records_6

<snip>
Photocopied payroll records distributed by the White House were not all legible. The White House promised clearer copies later Tuesday afternoon.

8. Pay Records
There is an article in the Chicago Tribune that tells about his pay stubs. He was paid for 9 days during the time in question. Read the article. I don't feel that 9 days justifies as satisfying the time required over a year!

10. I'm pretty sure..
..as a reservist you get paid 4 days pay for serving a weekend.

9 pay days is two months plus one 4 hour session.

15. Actually . . .
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 02:22 PM by ET Awful
The four days is for a typical two-day drill that starts on Saturday. Some drills begin on Friday night and would make for the 9 units in question. So basically, it would appear he did TWO weekend drills during the time period in question. One standard 2 day drill and one of the more unusual drills that began on a Friday night.

(I spent several years in the Army National Guard).

11. Why it clearly shows Viet Namese installations in Fort Worth....
there is a truck used to transport nerve gas....and here are three heavily armed North Vietnamese regulars ready to kill Americans....

Thank GOD, Bush was there to protect us!!

It just looks like the photos Powell used in his sham presentation to the UN.

9. I love the juxtapolition of these two lines:
"These documents clearly show that the president fulfilled
his duties," McClellan said.

Photocopied payroll records distributed by the White House were not all legible. The White
House promised clearer copies later Tuesday afternoon.

12. nine days of active duty between May 1972 and May 1973 proves AWOL
nine days of active duty between May 1972 and May 1973 proves AWOL -SO WHY is he happy?

ARF is a punishment unit - so credits/points were after being transferred to punishment unit from his TANG unit - and the crime was AWOL and disobeying an order to take a drug/exam/physical

And the 6 o'clock news will say nothing about this - not that they are media whores controlled by the right wing GOP - they just act like they are.

19. "unearthed pay records that eluded investigations for a decade"
But Bush* said on Meet the Press Sunday that all the records were released in 2000 before the election. Was Bush* LYING ?
