Poll question: Did Bush lose the MTP Gamble?
WE all know the Bush came to Tim Russet of MEET THE PRESS to stem the bleeding of his sagging poll numbers.

Did he succeed in convincing America he is worthy of a second term?

1. Your questions contradict each other
Yes he lost the gamble, No he didn't convince us he was smart.

the primary one.

7. It was distraction and diversion, all the way.
The nervousness and hesitation was so evident, however, that only the deluded could still stick to this guy. He is Toast.

9. he did memorize his answers pretty well
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 04:00 AM by radfringe
here's how I see it -

a leader must be able to respond to a given problem, especially if he's been involved with the problem for a long period of time

emergencies/situations/events etc don't sit around waiting for a "rove approved answer"

the MTP puff and fluff interview just means that bush* spent the week practicing and memorizing his answers --- it was all scripted like a television show or movie

added on edit: there were several articles prior to the MTP show about bush* being anxious to "get into the fray" and "chomping at the bit"

a friend of mine commented that it may be a good thing that bush* is chomping at the bit --- if instead the bit were a pretzel then bush* would probably choke

18. We saw how well he can handle an emergency....
That morning he sat listening to a reading lesson--as America was under attack.

Wish we had an equivalent of the Commons' "Question Time". I'd love to hear him, live, answering some really aggressive questions.

20. He was trying to portray himself as a strong Leader who handled the
situation in a manly and forceful way. Instead what we saw was a display of shameful coverup and hesitation. This guy wants to be JOHN WAYNE but can hardly ride a horse, much less a pony. We all know what happened on the Segway.

26. Cannot ride a horse. He is afraid of horses.
How's that for a cowboy? Keep the record straight.
Also did you notice how many cuts there were in that show? I wonder how many hours of film it took to get that edited version.

28. The Cowboy who is afraid of Horses?? OMG, how truely funny
Betcha in the near future, they will prop him up on a horse and take pictures of him breaking in the darn animal, branding those calves, and wrestling with a Big Brahma. Yup, saddle up, move um out.

10. Isn't it amazing that for him it's a big gamble
just to be INTERVIEWED on a pre-edited tape with a press that's already propping him up? What a brave boy he is!

14. Calamity, you are SOOOO correct in pointing out bushies cowardice
He wants the fix to go on but the House of Cards are already on its way down. He is in deep denial, angry, and lost on how to recover.

Sanity and Reason may come back sooner than expected.

19. I couldn't believe my ears during the 2000 election when
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 12:12 PM by CalamityJane
the media kept praising him for "staying on message" like it was a big accomplishment! Now, 4 years later they think it's a big accomplishment that he can give a pre-taped edited interview. No wonder the country is such a mess. You are right, these people are all completely nuts, and sanity and reason HAVE to come back soon!

Also, wanted to add: His other big accomplishment is PHOTO OPS. The press thinks it's just magnificent that he can appear in a heavily scripted and prepared propaganda appearance. How impressive. No matter that the rest of the people in the world are laughing their asses off at the self-impressed little emperor!

21. Emotion, the Human trait that allows Delusion to over ride Sanity, rules
the Pubs. Many Pubs are now questioning themselves.... more so as the Dollar weakens, jobs going over the border like water over Niagra, and the National Debt moving closer to 8 Trillion $$$.

The Independents smell a con job which is what the Pub scam truely is.

22. Come, we go to celebrate the return of SANITY and REASON next
November. We go to my house, get lobsters and Maine mussels, sweet corn, small red potatoes, Boston brown bread and blueberry crumb cake and take it to the beach.

Actually, it's cold here in November, so we'll all still go to your house instead. We'll do my Easternmost one the following August!

12. Even Saddam wasn't afraid to come into the streets!
Bush is Skeerd shitless of his own people! It proves that he has no guts! The AWOL story seems so much more probable, in light of the fact that, Bush is still a chicken shit like he was during Nam and still running away from Duty, Honor and Country! A real president would come out and try and bond with the people during a war, like real presidents always have in the past! I doubt very goddamned seriously, if Linclon and Washington had first amendment zones around them when they spoke to and supported the people! Clinton Jogged to Mikey-Ds and took bites off of people's Big-Macs! The fucker-in-chief is a cowardly killer! More like Ted Bundy than like a straight up citizen! Not Honest like The First Repub president! The fool even believes his own lies!

Bush said, that if Saddam has nothing to hide then why don't he let people see what he is hiding! Bush should take his own advice and stop hiding the truth about all the damage he and his band of thieves have done to their country! Bush has turned the White House into a fancy HIDEY HOLE! No Balls and no Shame Bush! I watched, and I was sickened by his cowardly, smirking, lying face!

29. He was trying his best to clean up a dirty picture...
more dirt fell as a result. He don't even know what it is to be where people are all cut up and dying. I happen to think, he don't even care.

He is a loser of gigantic proportions.

Soon, the Pub Master will tire of this Idiot and replace him with Gary Bauer. Even he would be a better puppet.

Come, we go surf.
