This will be Feb 17th. The Democrat in the race is Ben Chandler, grandson of A. B. "Happy" Chandler. The Republican is Alice Forgy Kerr. Chandler is slightly ahead right now. This race is interesting in many ways. It pits Chandler, who is from an historic Kentucky Democratic family, against Kerr, who has family ties to both Larry Forgy and Don Kerr, longtime Republican party leaders in the state.
Chandler lost the governor's race to Ernie Fletcher, a definite * boy. He is being painted as a career politician. I think the Republicans are in trouble though. They hauled out their"bloodhound" commercial early. That is the last original idea they have had in this state. Whenever the hounds are released...they are scared..lol.
I was called for a poll by a local TV station tonight. It was very straightforward. Questions were...are you going to vote, for who, did you vote last fall, for who, and how are you registered. There werent any push polling questions.
Bush really wants this one. He has been to the state several times for Fletcher. Forgy's ads have absolutely nothing in them except, I am a nice person, Chandler is not, and I support W...lol.
