Smithsonian Museums print "Happy Iraqis" story (link)
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 10:17 AM by amen1234

in their monthly magazine, the Smithsoniun Magazine, the museums have now lowered themselves to total misrepresentation....failing to report on the daily car bombs/suicide bombers, the lack of safe drinking water, or electricity, the diseases spread by untreated sewage, the lack of jobs, the horror of occupation, the inability to treat the sick, the lack of supplies in the hospitals, the power struggles...and more...

this story is completely "Happy Iraqis" and everyone should note that the Smithsonian Museum is part of OUR Federal Government, and is paid for with OUR taxes.....

Baghdad Beyond the Headlines

From gleeful schoolkids to a literary scholar who loves Humphrey Bogart, a photographer captures a reawakening but still wary city

Photojournalist Lois Raimondo had little idea what to expect. Her impressions had come mainly from daily news reports of the fighting and casualties and the coalition government's struggles to gain a footing on unstable ground.

lots of food in Iraq...

children dressed in uniforms and happily attending schools....

1. I'm sure they're happy...
Happy that... 60% don't have jobs; homicide bombers targeting American soldiers also injure innocent Iraqis; their homes are raided by coalition troops who take away all of their weapons, leaving them vulnerable to the lawlessness around them; they are on the brink of civil war; etc.

Saddam may be gone (which is probably a good thing), but it doesn't seem like the situation has improved much.
