The EPA administrator who cut enforcement staff and had them act as personal security guards.

I saw her on Real Time once. She argued that all these "phase in" provisions were a waste of time. She said that instead of demanding incremental increases in environmental targets, we should set a DEFINITE target say ... 30 years in the future.

Of course, it was industry that argued for the incremental targets in the first place to "give the time" to comply. Basically, she would cancel ALL the legislation that called for clean air improvement for the next 25 years. Of course, we all know in 25 years when the enforcement rolls around the industry will cry "we didn't have enough time, we're not ready, we'll have to shut our plants down, boo hoo hoo".

Whitman won't get nearly as deep in hell as Bush will. But she's going to hell nonetheless for enabling polluters to defile God's creation.
