Byrd incredibly on CSPAN2 now

he's making the point now that party must come, ALWAYS, after teh Constitution, and coming down hard on the obedience to presidents at the expense of the right thing...

Did anyone see him there? To me he was visibly absent.

5. I saw him speaking earlier today

He was just wonderful. One of the best speeches I've ever heard anyone make in the Senate. He is eloquent and passionate. He said that people elected to congress do not work for the president. He's just a hired hand just like they are. That the three branches of government are equal and that they are there to keep the executive branch in check. He really gave it to them. He's a treasure. I know he has a past but his actions and words since then have more than made up for that period in his life.

I may not always agree with his decisions, but he holds people to account and I really like that. He's a quintessential statesman.
