Question about the California primary
Edited on Sat Jan-17-04 07:11 PM by DaisyUCSB
I think it's most likely that the March 2nd(or possibly March 9th) primaries will be the end of the primaries, what finishes off whoevers left

My democrat friends and aquaintances though are also concerned about the GOP's challenge to Barbara Boxer, and believe that the election of the moderate republican Arnold coming from a huge GOP movement and massive republican registration, shows that the most liberal woman in the senate could be defeated by another moderate republican

My father, who was a senior part of the team who helped her first get elected to the senate(he now works for a big marketing firm and isn't going to work for her this year), says that Rosario Marin could "definetly beat her".

So, my question is, am I right in thinking that one can't vote in the democratic presidential primary and the republican senate primary, and 2 is it dumb to think that democratic sabotage in the republican senate primary would never be enough to change the outcome.

I justify doing this because my dad and my policsi and history professors all have shown me the evidence that republicans have a tradition of doing so all around the country and are already involved in doing so in this, our presidential primary, which is a whole other seperate scary issue.

BTW the other GOP candidates who would be much easier opponents are Toni Casey and Bill Jones. Most others don't have a shot at winning the primary. Marin is definetly Karl Rove's candidate

1. Arnold endorsed Bill Jones

He's way ahead in the polls the only one with name recognition. Marin won't win with CA repubs because she's not against the illegals.

Oh, and yes you are correct that the open primary system was overturned in CA so only registered party members vote in each.

3. Good questions
But Rove has started to distance himself from Marin because the base doesn't like her: she's got brown skin and she's pro choice. Ahnuld endorsed Jones, anyway, and he'll be roadkill in November.
