General Wesley Clark is generating major interest
Check it out:

http://money.cnn.com/2003/07/29/commentary/bottomline/lashinsky/

I look for an announcement in August - and I think it'll be that he is indeed going to run. With Bush becoming more and more vulnerable, and none of the current Democratic candidates pulling away from the pack, the timing seems perfect.

General Clark is, without a doubt, the candidate the GOP fears most. As Democrats, we'd be mad not to nominate him - and if he does run, I'm almost certain we will. And with him as our nominee we'll not only win the White House, we'll win handily.

1. WAIT!
Is Wesley Clark the anti-Christ? He seems to be so perfect a man to pull the world out of its current chaos.

2. I'm majorly interested...
I don't know if he has the funds or political know-how, but a run would ensure his spot as VP candidate.

6. A lot of money people are still uncommitted according to..

This article about the possibility of Gore entering the campaign. A lot of voters are uncommitted too. I think Wesley Clark can get that uncommitted money and uncommitted voters. He would also pull a lot of supporters already committed to other candidates.

The article:
http://www.thehill.com/news/073003/gore.aspx

The fluid situation has apparently kept a core group of Democratic fundraisers who played key roles in Gore’s 2000 campaign to remain aloof from the current candidates despite being courted intensely.

A former Gore campaign aide who surveyed fundraising data on politicalmoneyline.com noted that nine Gore supporters — eight of whom served as finance chairman, or deputy finance chairman at the DNC during the 2000 election — have by and large sat out of the Democratic primary.

Two of the three persons who had served as finance chairmen at the DNC in 2000 have contributed to presidential candidates, but otherwise remain uninvolved.

snip...

Another Gore official, who also worked on the 1996 and 2000 campaigns, said: “These folks are playing in a non-material, insignificant way. These were the top fundraisers for Gore and the party in 2000 and they are basically keeping their wallets shut and more importantly not asking their friends colleagues to help with an ’04 candidate.”

4. Clark can motivate the moderate dems to vote in the primaries...
I see Clark as a get out the vote, motivator. I think Clark can deliver a win in one of the houses of congress too. Winning back congress is also a consideration in 2004. A lot of people backing other candidates don't consider that. Congressional candidates can ride the coattails of a strong presidential candidate into office.

My 72 year old mother said that she'd campaign for Clark. And she's very apolitical. She hasn't even voted in yeeeeeears. I made sure she registered when I did her taxes this year. She's good to go in '04. :D
