I wouldn't wipe my butt hole with the Chicago Sun-Times
Two things in today's issue.

A quote from the column of one Neil Steinberg on the front page: (The relatives of 911 victims have) "in two short years, have gone from being objects of sympathy to a sort of permanent Greek chorus, hooting at any step away from the tragedy and toward regular life. " (This is in regards to 911 families objection to the proposed memorial.) Easy for him to say! He didn't have a 105-story building drop on his loved ones, and he isn't stymied for answers and a voice in the process. Stupid f*cker is saying "911 families? They're SO FIVE MINUTES AGO!"

And one aspiring mediawhore named Cindy Richards starts her column, "That G.W. has left me giddy as a schoolgirl. No, there's nothing weird going on between President George W. Bush and me. It's just that his promise to send us to Mars has me over the moon." What, there's nothing going on between you and Bush? What's stopping you? Claw your way to the front of the line and drop to your knees and BLOW HIM! http://www.suntimes.com/output/richards/cst-edt-cindy14.html

1. All of the shrieking heads have been denigrating...

the 911 survivors too. This is an interesting phenomenon, as it indicates that once they served their purpose, they weren't even needed any more. Now that Mariani is pushing her case, expect it to just get worse. As far as the other mediawhore goes, she sounds like the average, American bowhead; "shun her, for she is a fool"

"Elefant! csak nyald ki a segit, majd nem bant!"

3. That surprises me, as an Illinoisian, I always thought of Chigago
as carrying the state for the democratic party. Our local paper, which was traditionally a conservative run paper (central Il.) seems to be slowly moving to the center, maybe even a little bit left of center.

Of course, we have the Ryan scandal. That is one full blown republican crook.

5. Not our media.
You'd think that in Chicago, one of the great American Democratic strongholds, we wouldn't have the same right-wing media found elsewhere. You'd think wrong.

6. I live in the NW burbs,
and it is horribly conservative around here.

Our rep Phil Crane is the biggest embarrassment in the entire Congress, and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.

11. On our local news, which I refuse to watch, we are subject to a guy
named Mary Hyman (we call him buster in our family). He spews hate speech in the form of "commentary" telling the city to send the democrats packing in November. He is vile. I refuse to watch as long as I am subjected to his nonsense. I have sent a letter telling our newstation that the country is divided and if they are going to engage in that kind of outlandish rhetoric, they are alienating and pissing off close to or over half of their viewing audience. They don't care, his hate speech seems to have gotten worse.

9. Seattle Times is hysterically funny.
They have Doonesbury on the editorial page. I am from Chicago and at least the reich-wing Tribune has Doonesbury (and Boondocks) on the comics page.

7. Chicago, Philadelphia...
major city print media don't appear to be inclined to stray too far from the Chimp Lovefest. Word comes down from upper management on what to write and to keep their jobs these media types just have to do what they're told. There's so much of this shit about it simply can't be possible that all of these people actually hold the opinions they put in print. It's Whoring for an irresponsible media for sure.

10. Funny how 9/11 is trotted out every five minutes by BushCo to
instill fear so they can do their evil deeds but it's "so five minutes ago" when the actual victims ask valid questions about it.

RepubliCONs...thy name is hypocrisy.

12. It won't be so "five minutes ago" when they are doing their convention
IN SEPTEMBER, at the WTC site. Talk about politicizing 9/11.

BTW, I am correct, that is where they are holding their RNC convention, right?

13. Locking
Rules to start discussion threads in the General Discussion forum.

1. If you start a thread in the General Discussion forum, you must present your opinion in a manner that is not inflammatory, which respects differences in opinion, and which is likely to lead to respectful discussion rather than flaming. Some examples of things which should generally be avoided are: unnecessarily hot rhetoric, nicknames for prominent Democrats or their supporters, broad-brush statements about groups of people, single-sentence "drive-by" thread topics, etc.

2. The subject line of a discussion thread must accurately reflect the actual content of the message.

3. The subject line of a discussion thread may not include profanity or swear words, even if words or letters are replaced by asterisks, dashes, or abbreviations.

4. The subject line and the entire text of the message which starts the thread may not include excessive capitalization, or excessive punctuation.

5. If you post an article or other published content which is from a conservative source or which expresses a traditionally conservative viewpoint, you must state your opinion about the piece and/or the issues it raises.

6. You may not start a new discussion thread in order to continue a current or recent flame war from another thread. The moderators have the authority to lock threads in order to contain flaming on a particular topic to only one thread at a time.

7. Discussion topics that mention any or all of the Democratic presidential primary candidates are not permitted in the General Discussion forum, and instead must be posted in the General Discussion: 2004 Primary forum.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,
DU moderator
