Poll question: Predictions: will the O'Neill story fall by the wayside?
Will the O'Neill accusations go the way of the Novak/CIA issue, or remain important for a while?

This story, as with an other, will die unless WE keep it alive. Write your newspapers; call you Congressmen/Representatives; e-mail the big media corps. Let them know you want the entire story on prime time for everyone to hear.

5. It'll be over by the end of the month....
and with the recent "revelations" byt the Treasury department that
O'Neill "took" some classified material with him when he got the
boot...they'll be applying pressure on him.

Personally, I believe that he will be dead by apparent "suicide" by
summer...

7. It's a big story
and one that shouldn't fall by the wayside. Bush should have to repsond to it and be held accountable. He should also be held accountable about other issues concerning the war in Iraq.

11. Omigosh!
Personally, I believe that he will be dead by apparent "suicide" by summer...

My goodness. I sincerely hope not.

But I do think that most Americans are glad that Saddam is out of the picture, no matter how that was managed. If Bush was planning that from the git-go, a lot of folks will see that as a sign that he is a wise man. They will dismiss the many lies as irrelevant.

Sad, enit?

9. I don't think it is having a major impact now....
While I agree that those of us who spend time on the net getting our news, I don't think this story is having an impact on the average person who gets the majority of their news from local news stations.

I've watched my local newscasts all weekend (including today) and not one word was mentioned. The friends that I have who do not spend time on the net haven't heard one word about it, and as they told me "I can care less."

*Screams*

And people wonder why I'm getting cynical in my old age. ;-)

10. O'Neil is just one more piece of evidence in a large, ugly, puzzle.
From PNAC to O'Neil, it is becoming harder to deny that this had nothing to do with terrorism, 9-11, Al Queda or WMD. This was, as Kennedy got so much flak for saying, a dirty little war cooked up in Texas.

19. It's A Goner.
How many administrations have had these same things happen? Someone leaves and does a tell-tale book and/or hits the Talk Show/News Show circuits, people who are hoping that this person has the smoking gun to damage a sitting president, and it turns out to be a bunch of nothing? More times than I care to count.

And No, comments regarding "Remember John Dean" are not worth consideration. Spare me. I'm way ahead of you.

I have, however, had a few laughs over the comments being made about this and the frenzy some people have worked themselves into. So, at least some redeeming value came out of it: I was entertained for a brief while. Thank you to all participants.
