Do ya think ex-Treas. Sec. O'Neill has a wife who's a CIA officer?
Maybe the criminals in the White House will pull a "Joe Wilson" on this guy for shining a light on the cockroaches?

A senior administration official tells Sunday's WASH POST: O'Neill's suggestion 'is laughable. Nobody listened to him when he was in office. Why should anybody now?'... Developing...

1. Ah, yes. The Rovian response: character assassination
Won't work. O'Neill's credentials are sterling. Buchanan just might have something to say about O'Neill's reputation, also, and it won't be favorable towards the bushies.

Also, O'Neill handles himself very, very well. He knew what he was doing when he wrote the book, and you can bet he's prepared for what's coming. The question is: Are they prepared for him?

Hey, look, it's bush. Blind Man Walking!

2. My favorite snip
Also, as saying the administration's decision-making process was so flawed that often top officials had no real sense of what the president wanted them to do, forcing them to act on "little more than hunches about what the president might think."

And why would what the president want or be so foggy? Perhaps because he was either drunk, asleep, running, or playing video games?

4. There's another possibility.....HE HASN'T A CLUE WHAT TO DO!
I saw him live at the meetings in Quebec here in Canada, between the world leaders, shortly after his "election" and he was so obviously in over his head...CBC covered it live and he looked so out of place and I got the feeling he didn't really understand what was going on....I think that's why he's so big on joking and back-slapping....He bluffs his way through these situations....IMO....

5. Good point. Nothin in his life has prepared him to be a leader
The TX Gov is a photo-op. He failed in his other leaderhsip posts and got bailed by his daddy's fiends. As for his time with the Rangers that was only to use his name to collect checks and curry faves with the corrupt Dallas power elite.

3. O'Neill is a "true" believer in captalism and felt cheated.
Edited on Sat Jan-10-04 09:14 PM by billbuckhead
O'Neill felt cheated because the Bush brand of crony crapitalism ain't much different than Brehznev's crony communism. It disillusioned poor Pittsburgh Paul who grew up in a ditch and spent his early years living for the 3 paycheck months, he thought we'd all end with ponies.

Who says that line needs to be restricted to women?
