U.S. Tells D.C. to Pay Inaugural Expenses
http://story.news.yahoo.com/fc?cid=34&tmpl=fc&in=US&cat...

Is this the ultimate in hubris or what? Use Homeland Security Funds the administration tells DC.

(Washington Post) - D.C. officials said yesterday that the Bush administration is refusing to reimburse the District for most of the costs associated with next week's inauguration, breaking with precedent and forcing the city to divert $11.9 million from homeland security projects. Federal officials have told the District that it should cover the expenses by using some of the $240 million in federal homeland security grants it has received in the past three years -- money awarded to the city because it is among the places at highest risk of a terrorist attack

2. Keep this article cowboy.
If and when DC gets hit by terrorists, you can remind everyone of how they were forced to underwrite the coronation.

Sickening!

You go to an innauguration with the security you have. Not the security you might want or wish to have.

3. un-fucking-believable
and yet, totally believable.

These assholes know that Homeland Security is a goddamn joke. That's why they don't fund it, and are just fine with using it for other purposes, like the coronation of Emperor TinyDick.

8. He has a lot of good friends who stole the election for him...
to reimburse for the mere $40 million he has for the re-coronation! That's pocket change for a bunch of his constituents.
