Sen. Kerry and al-Qaida
Here's a question for Thursday night's debate between President Bush and Sen. John Kerry. What's with the drumbeat from the Republicans that electing Mr. Kerry president, or even electing or re-electing certain Democrats to the Senate, amounts to a vote for al-Qaida?
What, that is, aside from panic and desperation by the Republicans as Mr. Kerry's sharp criticism of how the Bush administration went to war in Iraq has finally turned this into a presidential campaign worthy of the name?

The disgraceful insinuation that Mr. Kerry is some sort of front man for foreign terrorists was in seemingly every Republican's script last week.

The President says Mr. Kerry's criticisms of his policies "can embolden an enemy." Vice President Dick Cheney says what Mr. Kerry has to say is "destructive" to both the war in Iraq and the war against terrorism.

1. It's all about fear. Keep the people afraid. See attached.
While I've been trying hard to take a positive pro-Kerry approach in my ads and flyers, I felt that the recent attacks by the Republicans essentially tying a Kerry victory to Al Queda attacks and the outrageous claim that Kerry's stance on Iraq "emboldens the enemy" cannot go unanswered. MSNBC and the New York Times have both highlighted these attacks in featured articles.
