Clinton in Canada - Nice Article
Fans line up for Clinton's autograph in T.O.
Former U.S. president promotes his new memoir My Life
By GREG BONNELL / The Canadian Press

TORONTO - A few female autograph seekers were reaching for hugs from Bill Clinton - and getting them - after lining up Thursday at a Toronto bookstore clutching copies of the former president's memoir My Life.

-snip-

After signing books inside for about 2½ hours, Clinton moved outside, surrounded by security, to autograph books for some of the 300 or so people still waiting on Bay Street.

Before going outside, he told reporters he was impressed with the ethnic diversity of the crowd and expressed affection for Toronto.

Clinton's morning arrival at the store, almost an hour later than scheduled, didn't appear to dampen the enthusiasm of those who began queuing up on the sidewalk outside the store a day earlier.

Cori Ferguson, 37, arrived at 4 p.m. Wednesday and was third in line to meet Clinton.

"He thanked me for wearing my 'Democrats Abroad' button," she said.

Her companion, David Dunkley, 33, noted they were not Democrats, but "we would be Democrats if we were living in the United States."

1. Thanks for this..reminds me I saw Big Dog on CBC last
night. Just flipping stations and there he was talking to Peter Manbridge or Manwaring..or what is that guy's name..the eloquent newsbroadcaster in Canada?

Anyway, Clinton is amazing in that he can get me to listen to his every word. I know he does that for a lot of People..just so articulately talking about why we shouldn't have gone into Iraq so Fast without knowing the full story and why Kerry would make a good leader.

3. He's visiting my province right now
and it's leading the local news broadcasts. :-)

I miss living next door to Clinton's America.
