Enough, Again, About 9/11

Self proclaimed super patriots scream, We must never forget. Forget what? Forget that you irrationally fear and hate all Muslims based on the actions of a tiny group of fundamentalists?

Shut up about 9/11 already. How about using the historical tragedy as a call to promote peace. Or is that too close to the original message of Jesus?

The article The United States of Fear states well how we have sold out our freedoms in the name of fear. (link) http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/09/07-7

Enjoy, and happy endless wars. And as President Obama said to end his speech justifying continued war, Thank you, God Bless you, God Bless our troops, and may God Bless the United States of America. No, God bless you President Obama.

See the text of his speech.

For fun, compare Presidents Obama misinformation and lies about Afghanistan http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/01/obama-afghanis... with those in Lyndon Johnsons speech about Vietnam. http://www.lbjlib.utexas.edu/johnson/archives.hom/speec...

Addendum: I am not asking or expecting anyone to stop grieving or remembering the loss, especially personal losses, from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. What I hope is that we stop allowing politicians and others to use 9/11 to justify torture, wars against innocent nations and people, civilian bombing, rendition, assassination and other atrocities.

Yours,
Tex Shelters

1. K&R! We learned all the wrong lessons,
attacked the wrong country, gave up our values and rights, and we pimp the memory for everything we can get. Totally warped.

2. If they had nothing to hide, why did they lie?
In 2006, The Washington Post reported: Suspicion of wrongdoing ran so deep that the 10-member commission, in a secret meeting at the end of its tenure in summer 2004, debated referring the matter to the Justice Department for criminal investigation, according to several commission sources. Staff members and some commissioners thought that e-mails and other evidence provided enough probable cause to believe that military and aviation officials violated the law by making false statements to Congress and to the commission.
