Rhode Island GOP Lawmaker arrested for POT!
Robert Watson has been the center of controversy for his words, now a Rhode Island lawmaker is letting his actions do the controversial talking in East Haven.

Police stopped Watson, a Republican state representative from the wealthy town of East Greenwich, Rhode Island at a police checkpoint in East Haven on Friday and there was a "strong odor of marijuana" coming from Watson's car, East Haven Sgt. Gary DePalma said.

A lawmaker who is arrested on drug charges is one thing. But Watson has been the focus of criticism recently over comments he made earlier this year about immigrants, drugs and homosexuality.

In February Watson made a controversial statement during a meeting with business leaders: "I guess that if you are a Guatemalan gay man who likes to gamble and smoke marijuana, you probably think we are onto some good ideas here."

Needless to say, members of the community have taken umbrage with those remarks.

The Guatemalan American Alliance of Rhode Island joined with the Immigrants in Action demanding an apology for his comments. Watson refused, telling a Rhode Island radio station his comments were made with levity and came out of frustration over the fact that Rhodes Island is in a state of fiscal ruin.

Watson has been released on a promise to appear in court.faces charges of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence after

3. LOTS of details here.......

...According to the report by patrolman Vincent Ferrara, Watson was driving his Ford Ranger pickup when he was flagged over at the checkpoint. Ferrara reported that Watson's eyes "were extremely glassy and bloodshot," that he smelled of alcoholic beverages as well as "the distinct odor of marijuana" and that his speech was slurred. He said Watson told him he'd had one or two drinks at a friend's house but was able to drive.

Ferrara said he asked Watson if he had any medical conditions that would prevent him from participating the sobriety tests and Watson told him no, noting that Watson stated "that he was an attorney and that he does these tests with his friends while out at bars."

In an eye coordination test, Watson was unable to follow Ferrara's finger smoothly, Ferrara's report stated. On a heel-to-toe walking test, Watson was told numerous times to wait until Ferrara finished explaining the test before starting, but Ferrara said Watson repeatedly started before he was done talking.

Ferrara said Watson raised his arms instead of keeping them at his sides and failed to make heel-to-toe contact while trying to walk a straight line.

"Watson stated at this time that he had a back problem, which he did not tell me when asked earlier," Ferrara said in the report.

7. The anti-gay God shouters are always using that as a cover up
Always. They ramble on about Sacraments and who is and who is not Sanctified and other nonsense, but they are always, like John Edwards, pointing fingers at others to distract from their own truth.
When anyone tells you they are superior to others, set apart by God, they are up to no good, and must be watched like the false speaking people they are.
Of course the President started in on his anti equality crap at a certain juncture in his own political career and 'marriage'. He went all intolerant, for some reason he suddenly felt the need to announce his fidelity at every turn. Not that he would ever, ever do anything wrong. Of course not! But he does repeat that which is usually spoken by those who are trying to draw attention away from the hand they have up someone's skirt.
