Franklin Graham's New Obama-Muslim Conspiracy Theory
Yes, there's a new Obama-Muslim conspiracy theory on the right: The evangelical son of one of America's most famous evangelists says that President Barack Obama has allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to become part of the US government and influence administration decisions.

In an interview last week with Newsmax.com, a conservative website (that pushes the Obama-was-born-in-Kenya conspiracy theory), Franklin Graham, an evangelist like his father, Billy Graham, claimed that the fundamentalist Islamic political group has burrowed into the Obama administration and is shaping US foreign policy. Sounding a bit like Glenn Beck, Graham explained:

"The Muslim Brotherhood is very strong and active in our country. It's infiltrated every level of our government. Right now we have many of these people that are advising the US military and State Department on how to respond in the Middle East, and it's like asking a fox, like a farmer asking a fox, "How do I protect my henhouse from foxes?" We've brought in Muslims to tell us how to make policy toward Muslim countries. And many of these people we've brought in, I'm afraid, are under the Muslim Brotherhood."

Infiltrated every level of our government—that's quite a claim. Yet Graham did not name a single Muslim Brotherhood infiltrator or cite a specific Obama administration decision that has been manipulated by these crafty behind-the-scenes Islamists. (The quotes in the Newsmax article reporting Graham's remarks differ slightly from what he actually said during his interview with Newsmax, according to the video of the interview, which is posted below.)

1. I have a list...
This neo-McCarthyism will hopefully run its course and fade away as did the original.

2. I can't believe it's lasted as long as it has. At least there WAS a Soviet Union on the other side
then with real nukes and some conflicting foreign policy goals, and they were our peers in some military and geopolitical categories, so they were a real competitor. People were just whipped into hysteria so they wouldn't wonder if there wasn't some kind of co-existence we could work out like we eventually did with China.

By contrast, Islamic fundamentalists have NO superpower at their back and of the two Middle East regional powers who may back them, Saudi Arabia and Iran, we GIVE one all our best weapons, intel, and their agents a free pass into our country anyway, so it's hard to see how they could do anymore damage than we do to ourselves without fundy terrorist infiltrators. Even so, the worst case scenario would be them gumming up this or that military or foreign policy project, but they couldn't open the door to a Muslim horde taking over the US because there is no horde capable of doing that.

3. Franklin Graham is a money grubber trading on his father's fame.
http://www.cleveland.com/nation/index.ssf/2009/10/franklin_graham_moves_to_addre.html

How does someone who claims to be a minister of the Gospel justify receiving compensation for TWO full-time jobs totaling $1.2 million? Yeah, he says he will not take the deferred comp but note that he doesn't say how much that amounts to.

But Graham said he has always felt overpaid. "I enjoy and love what I do," he said. "It's not a job, it's a calling.... I'd do it for nothing."

Right. Talk is cheap.

6. my 86 year old mother believes everything these people say
Just got off the phone with her and she watches all these Christian Broadcasting shows on Sunday morning since she can't get to church. She told me Obama is a Muslim and evil this morning. I told her so what, you love Dr. Oz and he is a Muslim. She watches Hucklebee and believes everything he says also. Thank God she didn't vote last election or she would have voted for I'm not a witch christine. They live in the state of Delaware.

7. They keep repeating the big lie and changing the subject when challenged
Typical online conversation with a birther:

"The Obama administration is full of Muslims"
"Name them"
"Actually, it's not so much that his administration is full of Muslims as that Obama keeps appointing Muslims to unelected positions"
"Name them"
"Actually, it's not so much that he keeps appointing Muslims to unelected positions as that...umm..err...SHOW US YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE!"

10. It's the Republicon Christian Brotherhood that I'm concerned about, this other bull is the same old
rock in the bushes distraction from the lying, hypocritical thugs. Look over here! See.......look here! The Muslim Brotherhood!........meanwhile, I only see the facts pointing to the Republicon Brotherhood, the Koch Brotherhood, the Fox Gop Fraudcasting Brotherhood, the evangelical brotherhood, the C street/family brotherhood, the Union busting Republicon Brotherhood, the corporate Brotherhood, and all of the other Republicon/Corporate Brotherhoods trying to destroy our Country.

We have actual proof of this, but the (rock in the bushes)......psssst look over here........."the Muslim Brotherhood is infiltrating the government" has no basis in fact, no one can present any proof that this exists, because it doesn't, yet the old game is, if they repeat the lie enough, people will start to believe it, especially their idiot, racist, gullible bible eating sheep Constituency.

We have proof of all of the things that the pathetic, authoritarian, corporate loving Republicons are doing, because we can see it and feel it. Where is one ounce of proof of any "Muslim Brotherhood" infiltration into the government? Why don't the Republicons just say it, they hate Muslims, they always need to create a villain to stoke fear and they will tell any lie to facilitate their goals. These are the same racists that have been yelling about their psychotic story about "Sharia Law" taking over some states lol. DO THESE DISGRACEFUL, FILTHY, UNDERHANDED, LYING PIG REPUBLICONS, EVER TELL THE TRUTH? Just how far would they go to get what they want? We can see already the direction they want to force the country toward. Let's face it, these Republicons would sell their own mothers, to get what they want, that is, if they already haven't. Just assume a Republicon is lying if their lips are moving and you will be ok. And as for the lying scum and phony "evangelical" turd, Scanklyn Graham, I guess the turd doesn't fall far from the asshole, his father, Silly "pig turd" Graham. Hey Pubes, we're all on to you, you speak and most of hear automatic lies and hypocrisy and your Favorite Nazi like Brothers Koch? Well, their name on the internet is now a household name which has become synonymous with "the corporation, trying their hardest, to destroy Unions and a country who's policies for "We the People" have been hated by the Koch Klan family since their father helped Stalin and the Nazis with their oil issues way back yonder. I believe they are traitors to this country, along with the traitorous Republicons who sold our votes and voices out from under We the People, to "Them the Corporations" who give the Republicons large "campaign contributions" (bribes) to do the corporate will instead of the will of the people. I know it's ugly, but the truth isn't always nice and kind and the sooner we recognize who these people are and see what they are really trying to do to "our" country, the harder we will fight to beat them at this game they have rigged from the inside of what used to be a government of, for and by the people and if I remember correctly, it was not supposed to "perish from the earth".

12. I love conspiracy theorists...
People who bloat themselves up claiming to have insider information on something so as to feel more important.

From the Tea Baggers to UFO's to the JFK assassination to WMD's to the Moon Landing. All bat-shit crazies looking to ignore the plausible for the fantastical in hopes that people will listen to them.

I've always wondered why his daddy was treated with any sort of respect even more so about junior. I guess if you keep a bible close at hand you can claim to be anything the rubes will buy.
