The latest Obama cheerleader is ... Dick Cheney?
In a rare interview, Dick Cheney praises several aspects of Obama's foreign and security policy
BY JUSTIN ELLIOTT

"He obviously has been through the fires of becoming President and having to make decisions and live with the consequences. And it's different than being a candidate. When he was candidate he was all for closing Gitmo. He was very critical of what we'd done on the counterterrorism area to protect America from further attack and so forth.

"I think he's learned that he's not going to be able to close Guantanamo. That it's-- if you didn't have it you'd have to create one like that. You've got to have some place to put terrorists who are combatants who are bound and determined to try to kill Americans.

"I think he's-- in terms of a lot of the terrorism policies-- the early talk, for example, about prosecuting people in the CIA who've been carrying out our policies-- all of that's fallen by the wayside. I think he's learned that what we did was far more appropriate than he ever gave us credit for while he was a candidate. So I think he's learned from experience. And part of that experience was the Democrats having a terrible showing last election."

6. +1 Cheney is praising a Republican President so why not?
Oh. I'm sorry. Were you, like me, thinking that we'd elected a Democrat into the highest office?

3. He presumes the reason was becuase they did not go tryanical enough.
That is a common thought in many areas.

It is the concept of siding with what someone thinks the winner is. Basically when a person does good on Earth, they get some hardships, so some think that evil runs existence. Then again, they might not see the good help, maybe that's it.

Then they think because of that, regardless of what they think is better or worse, they think 'ends justifies means', but can not comprehend the ends that they use to justify the means.

The torture and lack of respect for the prisoners was the problem, not incarceration. Same with USA prisons, and people in prison that are innocent. When you allow a prison to become a wasteland where people are hurt, thing don't work out well. Especially since many people in prisons are actually mostly innocent.

Once they turned to torture, they joined what they were suppose to be against, and lost the high ground. And now because of the actions done at various prisons, they can't even incarcerate people without it now looking bad. Their abuse of the prison system with sadism and for profit beyond moderation, lost them even the ability to incarcerate people.

The torture is why Gitmo has to be closed, they did it to themselves. If they had treated them really well, and with respect, and people saw that, then they would have held the high ground, and could have even had trials and respectful dignified enforcement of laws.

4. I sure don't see Darth's comments as cheerleadig!
I think DC is right hen he said he cn't close Gitmo...at least not right now. I don't know why, but I trust BO that he would have done if if he could have. Please remember everyone, we really don't know everything. I trust BO enough to know he did not adopt DC's ideas on anything but he hasn't closed GITMO for a valid reason.
