Joe Lieberman, Connecticut Senator, Says He'll Likely Run For Reelection In 2012

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) signaled on Monday that he's likely to run for reelection in 2012, Connecticut News Junkie reports.

"I haven't decided fully, but I'd say I'm probably going to run again," explained the Connecticut Senator after delivering a speech to the Hartford Club on the latest cyber security concerns threatening the country.

In 2006, Lieberman was reelected to the Senate as an independent after he failed to secure Connecticut's Democratic nomination in a primary race against Ned Lamont, who is now seeking the state's governorship.

"For my own interests, and my family's interests, and of course the state's interests after this election I'm going to sit down and take a hard look at it and decide," explained Lieberman of looming decision. "I feel that I'm involved in some areas trying to help the state bring support from the federal government, which can help our economy and protect our jobs."

In the mean time, Lieberman's 2012 fundraising initiatives appear to already be underway.

Can we assume that if Holy Joe were to run as a Democrat that there would be calls to support that POS on account of the letter after his name?

1. I don't think he can go back.
It's pretty rare to remarry the one that kicked you out. I expect a progressive Democrat, a teabagger Repug, and Joe as an "independent democrat", whatever the hell that means.

But he'll be reelected. I don't expect the voters of Connecticut to change much before then.
