Nixon was blindsided by Freedom of the Press. That's why the GOP moneybags bought up all the papers, radio and TV stations and magazines they could. And then the Supreme Court upheld the Pentagon Papers, so the GOP went after the Court, too, more seriously than they had ever done before.

But Wikileaks is outside the borders, AND the Internet permits information to flow around the world in a way it simply couldn't, 40 years ago. That's why the government seeks to "regulate" it, to prevent future "abdications".. Corporations simply want to drain every last penny from the Internet, and use it to control the US government and its consumer slaves.

The rest of the world, in the meanwhile, has no reason to provide cover for our government's dirty secrets, with the exception of some dependent, client states. And aside from Israel, most of those states are struggling to get out from under the US/globalism thumb anyway.
