No Top 10 Conservative Idiots this week - my apologies

I was due to write a new edition this week after taking a break over the holidays, but unfortunately it was not to be. While my family had a pleasant time visiting our relatives in the UK this Christmas we also picked up a rather nasty cold virus which is only just on the outs after a couple of weeks, and if there's one thing worse than looking after a teething, jet-lagged 15-month-old with a 103-degree fever, it's looking after a teething, jet-lagged 15-month-old with a 103-degree fever while trying to write jokes about a bunch of conservative douchebags.

Fortunately the boy is feeling much better now, but I simply wasn't able to get it done this week.

Which brings me to another issue...

Those of you who look forward to the Top 10 should be prepared for the fact that it may have to go on hiatus for a little longer. There is some stuff coming up in my personal life - nothing bad, rather soon-to-be incredibly time-consuming - which may mean I have to take a Sabbatical from writing for a while. On top of the personal stuff, we have some important changes and upgrades planned for DU in the coming weeks and months. This work, combined with my family obligations, means that the Top 10 may have to take a back seat.

I'll keep you updated on the situation. In the meantime, my apologies once again to those of you who were waiting for a new edition this week.

Family first, and I hope you, and your family is Ok, and have a great time together.. Because the time you have now, is some of the most important time in your life.. It is now your bonds with the child is made, bonds who will survive the test of life..

So don't worry about top 10, if everything is true you have enough material to make a couple of 10 top when you decide to write .. It is amazing how the conservatives in US can do as they do, and talk as they talk.. The old giant's in the republican Party would have turned in their graves if they had known..

No worries Earl. You do an incredible (and hilarious) job most every week and you need time to take care of your family.

But perhaps we could have an open OP every Monday that you cannot put together the top ten, or even just need a break, for members to contribute their offerings. Doesn't have to be 10. It could be open-ended all week, but only con idiots that f'd up during the last week before the Monday can be highlighted (otherwise there'd be no one to do the next Monday).

Just a thought.
