The Tiger Woods scandal is a tale of sex -- and sexism
The women whose names have been linked to the transgressing Tiger Woods have been described, in part, by their physical attributes -- busty -- but also by their day jobs. The list of ladies has included both cocktail and pancake-house waitresses, a lingerie model and two porn actresses. One woman was described all over the Internet as a British broadcaster -- or television presenter, as the folks across the pond would say -- but because that didn't sound nearly tantalizing enough, she was given the added description of being "a cougar."

All the women have been engaged in various degrees of denial, obfuscation or the kind of eager, guttersnipe gossiping typically used to ratchet up the price of a tell-all tabloid interview. None of the women, however, has managed to exude the sort of righteous indignation that one would expect from someone wrongly accused of sleeping with a married man or the shame of having such a dark secret found out.

In many ways, the women have gotten, if not what they deserve, then surely what they could have expected. They are being portrayed as tarts, self-serving women who have stretched the definition of right and wrong until it has snapped in two.

3. well, they are self-serving tarts.
That's not sexism. And the whole reason Woods got involved with them was because they were sexy and had big boobs. He didn't have affairs with these various cocktail waitresses because he admired their sharp intellects.

17. Bullshit. Men are not animals.
Enough with the evo psych justifications for men being led around by their dicks instead of using their brains. It's really, really old.

9. This is such a inane post. Why should the other women be in anyway dissed
for sleeping with a married man? It was Woods who took the marriage vows, not the other women. If all the concerned were members of the same faith that would be different because each would be expected to follow the rules but as it stands the only person who has acted reprehensibly is Woods.

I can't go around hurting people just because I don't share their religious or ethical principles.

16. Why should the "other woman" or "women" get off the hook?
They KNEW Tiger was married--how in the hell WOULDN'T they know?

It takes two or more, in Tiger's case, to tango, but it's worse for Tiger because of how flagrantly he cheated on Elin.

21. Why should other women who may not even believe in marriage respect
a piece of paper that Woods doesn't respect. Anger that gets dumped on the "other women" is irrational. Woods is the only person with a vested interest in his marriage so he alone is the a**whole. If he doesn't care about his wife why should women who don't even know his wife care? Why should other women have any responsibility to a marriage that is not their own?

11. Tiger will be just fine....
Hey.. the Duggars can have 19 kids... John Daly beat the evil demon Jack Daniels.... Rocco Mediate played with a bad back for years and won.. Tiger will be OK.

Jimmy Swaggert confessed his sins, Jim Baker is back on the TV Evangelical circuit after 10 years in prison... how can it get any better than this?

Well ...maybe back in the day.. if only they had video of Pat Robertson fellating Tami Faye Baker...things would have been different.

14. I know it's unfair to group them ALL in the "fame-hungry, celeb-stalking groupie"
category, but it is still generally accurate...

And the columnist is WAY off on this one -- this is much more about class than gender; hence the media emphasis on the common thread among the conquests: most have common, mundane jobs and although they work in industries or geographical locations heavy with celebrities, fame and fortune, none of the girls made their breakthrough to the A-list, and the window of opportunity had closed...A couple of the ones described as "busty" is reporter-speak for "I'm pretty sure she has balloon implants but I have no way of confirmation"...

Secondly, I think the focus on jobs/looks (especially the questionable ones in both categories) is an unspoken call-out to Tiger's taste in women...The one un-PC thing a lot of guys (especially those living vicariously through him) think but don't want to say is "Tiger, stop slumming...If you MUST sloppily step out on your marriage to a Swedish model and get caught doing so, at least do it with a woman worthwhile!! You should be chasing Hollywood's biggest actresses, crossing off names from the FHM 100 list, stealing hot daughters from Mideast oil sheiks, etc.."

But you look at that murderer's row of groupies, and not one even looks half as good as the wife (which makes me wonder why he even married her in the first place -- a whole other line of speculation for another time)

23. How is it sexist to describe women who intentionally sleep
with a married man as self serving tarts?

They're wrong, he's wrong (more so), if you ask me both sides are getting the treatment they deserve.
