STOP the presses!
Forget Afghanistan! Forget Health Care! Forget about the economy!

This is the REALLY important stuff here! We have to focus on this issue alone until it is solved!

Number Of Stranded Turtles On Rise
Cape Stranding Season Begins

WELLFLEET, Mass. -- The number of sea turtles washing up on Cape Cod beaches is on the rise as ocean water temperatures drop.

Massachusetts Audubon Society volunteers and staff walked beaches from Eastham to Dennis over the weekend and found five "cold-stunned" Kemp's ridley turtles and one green sea turtle.

2. Well, yes, but...
the ocean temperatures will, of course, still drop during winter. They may not drop as much as they used to, but they certainly will not remain as warm as they are during summer.

3. Apparently from reading the column, at least in this sector, the ocean is getting warmer.

<snip>

"Aquarium officials say the strandings are a natural occurrence as water temperatures drop and the turtles get hypothermia, which slows their metabolism and immobilizes them.

The strandings usually start in early November but have been delayed this year by the unusually warm temperatures."

4. I don't believe we should forget Afghanistan, health care or the economy but I'm still recommending
your thread as evidence of another canary in the coal mine.
