International House of Prayer! The 'Scary' IHOP!
As if the food at the International House of Pancakes wasn't scary enough!

Entreaties never stop at the International House of Prayer
Music rocks the crowded prayer center, pulling many of the 200 young people to stand, their arms reaching to heaven as if they can’t wait to get there.

A teenage girl steps to the microphone.

Rise us up to be your army, Jesus!” she shouts above the din. “Come and fill the void of this generation!”

<snip>

The digital signal from the International House of Prayer in south Kansas City makes its way via Washington, D.C., to Jerusalem, where it streams live on God TV for broadcast all over the world.

Two in the morning, 8 at night, dusk and dawn. Holidays and ice storms. Time doesn’t matter because these young worshippers are more concerned with the “End Times.” The signs are here. The Messiah is near.

OK, it's another 'Rapture Ready!' bunch, convinced they can hasten the Second Coming. But this group is particularly scary. Their leader is Mike Bickle, a 53-year old evangelist who claims he's 'been to heaven - twice!' His preaching emphasizes the Book of Revelation even more than the average fundie sin-shouter.

He makes really scary statements like: “Untold millions will die in the wake of his righteous, loving judgments.”

Righteous, loving judgements, and "untold millions will die? :wow:

3. Rapture ready? Gosh I guess they didn't get the memo...
The rapture was in 1982..and rapture is actually a very inadequate word for it...it was just great!
However we are all back now having passed through the seven years of the AntiChrist Bush and we are working hard at cleaning up that mess and getting ready for the thousand years of peace.
I am so sorry they missed it.

9. I don't believe it. If the Rapture was in 1982 why is Jimmy Swaggert still around?

4. So, what will they do when the 'Rapture' doesn't happen
and they don't have a job or a decent education? Go on Welfare?

5. That's unimportant to them
The rapture will happen at some point, even if not in their lifetimes. If they die before it, then so be it, it will happen to a future generation.

It's just a way to control the masses - make them believe that the rapture is around the corner so that they can be herded and led like sheep.

8. answer
If you will permit me I am a Staff member at a house of prayer. I have served at 3 different Ihop and out of all of them i do not know one person that is welfare. Staff either raise support like a full time missionary or they work remedial jobs and trust the Lord. In Biblical times the there where paid full time worshipers that where in the Tabernacle of David. It is really fun history to look up.

10. Jesus threw those money oriented people out of the Temple
with uncharacteristic vigor, involving whips and overturned furniture as I recall. Called 'the cleansing of the Temple' by the dude who taught that one can not serve both God and Money. And while that is of course Scripture and not history, I wonder why you have not looked that up?

6. Let's just hope that Mike Bickle is one of the "untold millions".
These folks are insane.

7. I guest so tired of this Rapture blather.
This "Rapture" that they're so ready for isn't even mentioned in the bible.

Those doofi (plural of doofus) don't even know their own bloody religion.
