Will Obama be the beginning of the end of our government of elite dem/pug puppets?
Two possibilities:

(1.) The optimistic one is that Barack Obama will be honor his campaign rhetoric and be a champion of the people who elected him. However, to do this, he will have to stay very independent from his DLC right wing and recycled Clinton corporate appointments to date.

(2.) The sadly more realistic scenario is that his appointments to date are an appetizer of the meal to come. In short, we have been snookered again and we're back to the square one of a puppet government of astronomically rich elites.

The irony is that in either case, our ONE dem/pug political party is on very, very thin ice.

Arguably, the last eight Bush/fascist/neocon horror show years have mutated America to the core. It's like when organized crime comes TOO FAR out of their shadows of secrecy and people start seeing them as the detestable scum they truly are. This is exactly what happened to the vampire elites (aka, “Have’s”) during the Bush years.

Their evil and greed was so limitless, they left the safety of their “Heart of Darkness” and openly started money cow oil wars, openly raped and murdered Mother Nature, openly bled trillions of dollars from the American economy, openly tried to break the back of working class Americans with taxes, destroyed or stolen health and retirement plans, and the cannon fodder massacre of our children in immoral “preemptive” wars justified by Presidential State of the Union lies.

Lastly, the evidence is growing that American elites have been systematically committing atrocities (genocide?) on the middle and lower classes of America for the last several decades, e.g, unregulated poison food, intentionally desecrated ecosystems, unregulated pharmaceuticals, dumbed down educational programs, and under funded scientific research (medical and otherwise), and the cold blooded murder of New Orleans by deliberately allowing the levees to fail, etc., etc.

Hence, it's probable that which ever way Obama jumps, the virtually anti-Christ years of Bush/Cheney may well be the "end times" of the United States of the Elites.

Eight years ago, the elites were secretive to the point of invisibility. However, now literally millions of Americans totally realize that America is a puppet government of the elites.

The 2006 "dem" Congress of DLC right wing traitors (i.e., just more puppets of the elites) may well be the "tipping point" of a "backlash" of millions of patriotic Americans who have now seen the elites do their filth in broad daylight.

So, if Obama chooses the second option (i.e., be just a new "tentacle" of the elites), the outrage of betrayed Americans will almost certainly transform American politics radically and forever.

The fact is that the Bush/Republican/fascist murder of America and the ecosystems of human existence have unimaginable consequences. As a country, we aren't just going to walk away from it! And as a country, we WILL NOT ALLOW Obama to be "Bush light"! Said differently, thanks to the infinite greed and cruelty of the elites (via their dem/pug puppets), the dynamics of status quo American politics are now hanging by a thread.

Too much has happened. Too much evil. Too much theft. Too much murder.

And not to forget 9/11, which millions of Americans (and counting!) now believe was indeed an "inside job".

The point is it's irrationally naive to think that as a country we will proceed with "business as usual". The view that, “Yes, a lot happened during the last eight years, but life will go on more or less normally,” is exactly the belief which this piece challenges absolutely.

Post Bush, etc., "business as usual" is dead. Post Bush, etc., all the political game rules have changed. And post Bush, etc., if Obama pushes policies and values significantly to the right of the people who elected him, he will almost certainly catalyze the beginning of the end of the status quo American political system/prison.

We should never forget that the present American political system/prison was INVENTED by the elites (and enforced by their “brown shirt” dem/pug puppets) to brainwash and subjugate working class Americans. But we should also never forget that this political system/prison is made out of "paper" (i.e., merely elite invented “rules” to enslave the lower and middle classes).

But paper can be walked through and crumpled at will.

So these next few years aren't just going to be a measure of Barack Obama; they are also going to be the sinking or swimming of status quo American politics. And if status quo American politics "sinks", who bloody cares, since it's sinking will be the resurrection of the will of the American people and our Constitutional Republic.

The bottom line is that status quo politics (i.e., the dem/pug puppet government of the elites) isn't just more part of the problem than the solution. It IS the problem . . . and Obama would be well advised not to recycle it.

2. Were we snookered? A video that I saw midway through the Primaries
Edited on Fri Dec-26-08 02:11 PM by truedelphi
Has one of the best soundtracks and is one of the most truly defining examinations of our media and its interconnectedness with the political world and the Corporate Culture.

When Obama choose Joe Biden, a prince among the credit card companies, should we not have had a sinking feeling? And that sinking feeling has multiplied with the appointments of Geithner, Rubin, Summers, Vilsack, and Gates.

Anyway this short 3 minutes explains it all (It also explains why my avatar remains unrelated to the top contenders in the race)

"This is a great video. Be sure and watch it on a computer not linked to your DU account."

Actually I have posted it about twenty times since June, and never had a mod upset over it. And I'm glad to see you are back on (Welcome to the DU choo-choo!)

However, that movie whose title begins with "Z" has gotten me in trouble once or twice.

9. This piece is correct
Business as usual is dead unless all of us want to hold our tongues and allow ourselves to be slaughtered...which may happen.

The Elite decided to push their final solution- them or us. "May you live in interesting times."

12. final solution for the lower and middle classes
Hydra,

The "final solution" phrase is gruesomely apt. The evidence is overwhelmingly out there on multiple sites, that billionaire elites are almost certainly trying to commit literal genocide on the middle and lower classes. They think the human cattle (that's us) need to be "culled".

I wish to God this was tin hat stuff, but we should never forget that "forced inoculations" (for their "own good", of course) of innocent and trusting Africans by white (undoubted racist!) Europeans, lead directly to a continent wide epidemic of aids, just as Bush engineered the death of New Orleans by deliberately allowing the life and death levees to fail.

This is not the time to go into this substantively (but I promise I will later) but just a few examples: deregulated poison food is everywhere, deregulated pharceutical giants can now put "dirt" in capsuels and call it medicine, deregulated environmental protections have poisoned our atmosphere, rivers and oceans, the ozone holes have been allowed to become enormous (allowing cancer causing radiation to flood our planet), and most of all the fossil fuel insanity is directly related to the rising waters of our coastal cities due to the catastrophic melting of polar icecaps.

The elites, however, have so many fire walls of safety that they need to fear none of these things.

Clearly, this is an horrific and massive subject and it will be dealt with over and over again by this author. Alas, it's REALLY HAPPENING as we speak and it has been going on for decades in the elite Heart of Darkness.

15. Of course it is
It's hard to mistake what's going on unless you don't want to see it.

I've just got my  and I'm waiting to see if humans have finally hit the final roadblock. The "elites" are hardly the finest minds and finest bodies of our species- if they succeed and they have not perfected genetic engineering, Homo Sapien goes bye-bye.

10. You could call it blowback. The crudeness of Bushco revealed the structure
of their crimes. When stuff gets painful enough for the very ignorant to connect the dots and the televised bread and circuses don't distract we may have the means to bring about a representative government.

14. Looking back....

..at the Obama fever of the primaries, and the overwhelming joy and tears of happiness when Obama was elected, there must be a whole lotta people feeling really stupid right now. Being a Clinton supporter during the primaries, and now a strong Obama supporter by finally being able to hear him over the screaming of his more "avid" primary supporters, I don't. Thanks.

16. in a word, nope . . . he's finding out early on that to get anything done . . .
he's going to have to play ball with the real powers that be . . . in other words, the corporate/government oligarchy . . .

the sad reality is that, to accomplish any meaningful change, Obama would have to take on the corporations and put them in their place . . . he isn't ready to do that, and likely never will be . . . which means that rather than real change, what we'll see is the appearance of change . . .

take healthcare for example . . . real change would be a single payer system that removes HMOs and insurance companies from the healthcare equation . . . but they're so powerful that any revised healthcare system will undoubtedly allow them to maintain their cut of the pie . . . so no matter what "change" may be announced, you can bet that the corporations will continue to siphon off x% of our healthcare dollars for profits, executive salaries and perks, marketing and advertising, and all of the other activities that contribute absolutely nothing to healthcare . . .

reality is what reality is . . . and reality today is that the corporations are running the show, and any attempt to cut them out of the action will be met with resistance powerful enough to preclude any real change . . . which is why Obama won't even attempt it . . .

22. I wasn't snookered
I always knew that Obama and every other candidate except maybe Kucinich were status quo candidates.

But I was incredibly excited and still am excited about Obama because he's SO MUCH BETTER than what we have had, though within the status quo of our politics.

That's the real "change" as I see it, from unbelievably BAD (and every time I say Bush is bad, I really mean it. He isn't just bad the way all politicians or all republicans are bad. He's the worst president in our history, imo.) to potentially very GOOD.
