Funny: Did Someone at PBS flip the DNC logo's stars on purpose?
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 11:15 AM by Mugsy
Via "Mugsy's Rap Sheet":

Way back in March of last year, I wrote about the fact that someone appears to have deliberately flipped the stars on the RNC's elephant logo upside down:

The upside-down star is symbolic of the Satanic Pentagram:

Why this was done is anyone's guess. But it wasn't always this way:

George Bush Sr's 1988 GOP Convention pin

Anyway, last Friday, during "Jim Lehrer's News Hour" on PBS, a curious thing caught my eye:

Someone obviously went through the trouble of DELIBERATELY inverting the stars on the DNC logo. How do I know it was "deliberate"? Note the logos in the background all show the stars upright. NOWHERE does the official DNC logo appear with the stars inverted, so someone not only had to create the graphic from scratch, but take the time to flip the stars on just the foreground logo.

A few minutes later in another graphic with less pronounced logo, the stars are once again upright:

So the alteration is quite clearly deliberate.

Meanwhile, as George W. Bush leaves office, the GOP has changed its logo once again:

Only one star this time, but once again upright. Interesting.

So what does everyone else make of all this? Is it a mountain out of a molehill or something more sinister? :)

1. Other than the fact that the new logo looks like roadkill
complete with treadmarks, I think it's just a case of stupid news graphic people playing dumb tricks with both party logos.

3. Same logo is changed twice.
As I was posting this, I noticed that the same altered logo used in the first PBS graphic... with only two visible legs and an altered nose, unlike the background graphic, with three legs and blunt nose... was changed back in the second graphic! Same two-legged donkey with skinny nose, but the stars are turned upright.

That's no "simple mistake".

4. Thom Hartman has been talking about this for
a long long time. The RNC did this....as far as I know, they gave no reason. But it sure seems like it was done for nefarious reasons.

The thing on PBS should be investigated. That was done deliberately and for malicious reasons.

5. You'd think the parties would make it easier...
I went to both websites looking to find downloadable "official" copies of their logos. You'd think they would make it easy to find high-quality images, both for activists and for journalists, but I couldn't find much of anything.

I did find this inverted star elephant at the GOP website:

But I couldn't find anything official at the DNC website.

It is conceivable that if the kicking donkey originally faced right, and if it was distributed in some sort of vector format, that flipping it to face left could make the stars rotate. I don't know though, it all just seems strange.

6. PBS made an error ... they actually added "ic" on the "Democrat Party"
I guess that they can't get too obvious ... maybe they smell the blood winds of change ...

7. I think you're right.
The change to the DNC was most likely deliberate.

However I read a theory here on DU that the stars on the RNC elephant are actually meant to be tilted 45 degrees (which unfortunately makes them look like they're upside down).

9. I've thought that too, but...
I've thought that too, but... nothing else about that elephant suggest it is "leaning forward" or tilted in any manner. If that was their intention... to symbolically represent forward motion, it would make more sense to move the stars just 30 degrees or some other inexact amount so that the implication is clear.

As you can see from the 1988 pin, "just the stars" were changed, and I've yet to hear ANYONE "officially" explain why.

8. ask Hagee....he'll know..
it's obviously some insider anti-christ symbol.

Only the true insiders notice it, I've heard.
