IRAQ BANS OPPOSITE-SECTS MARRIAGE
Bowing to the dominant religious elements in his Shia Party, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki announced today a complete ban on opposite-sects marriage.

Stating that “marriage” should be strictly defined as between a Shia and a Shia, or between two Sunnis, Maliki also came out against civil unions between opposite sects, in favor of civil war.

However, one Iraqi politician, Sunni Vice President Dickwahd al-Cheney, was exposed as a hypocrite on this issue, since his daughter is married to a Shiite. Questioned about this contradiction on the Al Jazeera program, The Shiite-uation Room ...
