AP: U.S. Soldiers Kill Halliburton Employee.
I swear it's like the keystone cops over there these days. It
would be funny if it wasn't so horrific.

BAGHDAD, Iraq U-S forces have shot and killed a civilian
contract truck driver in Iraq. A second person in the truck
was wounded.

Lieutenant Commander Bill Speaks says it happened on Monday at
Camp Anaconda, a huge air base north of Baghdad. Speaks calls
it "an escalation of force incident." He says the
incident is under investigation by the Army Criminal
Investigation Division and the contractor, K-B-R, a subsidiary
of Halliburton.

An escalation of force incident normally means a driver
approaching a checkpoint did not respond to military orders to
approach slowly and stop.

A K-B-R spokeswoman says 98 K-B-R employees and subcontractors
have lost their lives, and more than 430 have been wounded by
hostile action, while performing services under the company's
government contracts in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
