Striking Goodyear workers encouraged to vote for working family candidates

By Jesse Russell

On Saturday striking Goodyear Tire workers in Topeka, Kansas attended a rally where they were reminded of the importance of voting for labor friendly candidates in tomorrow’s election. The Topeka plant is just one of 16 Goodyear plants where workers have been on strike since October 5. More than 1,300 workers are employed at the Topeka plant. At the rally United Steelworkers Local 307 President Robert Tripp said, “if you’re not willing to fight for your family and your middle-class lifestyle, then we’re done.” Kansas, traditionally a red state, is one of many important state’s to watch tomorrow. Kansas has seen a number of Republican’s defect from their party this year, instead deciding to throw in with the Democrats.

1. I am planning on
going out to the line to spread a little support this week. I have had a couple of them working on my house when they are off the line, they are really starting to hurt.
