IT’S THE E-SODOMY, STUPID
James Carville, a chief architect of the 1992 Clinton victory, and author of the famous slogan “It’s the economy, stupid,” has now come up with a brilliant rallying cry for the Democrats in the upcoming mid-terms: IT’S THE E-SODOMY, STUPID.

As only Carville, the “Ragin’ Cajun,” could put it, the recent Foley feeding frenzy provides the sweetest of ironies: “For the GOP, which made its electoral bones on gay-bashing, what goes around, comes around, and now they’re taking it in the ass.”

Mr. Carville added, in his unique down-home fashion, “live by the sword, choke on the sword.”

Paul Begala, Carville’s long-time colleague in the Clinton campaign wars, asserted that the GOP base — the evangelical, neo-Nazi, know-nothings — “are now as likely to stay away from the polls as Pat Robertson from a Greenwich Village bathhouse.” “At least that we know of,'’ Begala quickly corrected himself.

The two political gurus have therefore advised all Democratic Congressional candidates to forget about Iraq, and “talk about Foley 24/7.” As Carville put it, “the American people are more concerned about 16 year-olds losing their so-called innocence from IMs, than with 19 year-olds losing life and limb from IEDs.”

“As for me personally,” Carville added parenthetically, “I’d take erotic over idiotic any day of the week.”

However, GOP strategists made clear they were not just going to roll over and die. Making a joint appearance with hubby James on Meet the Press, Mary Matalin told Tim Russert that the only reason the Democrats are better on the sodomy issue is that they have no balls.

The Democrats nevertheless plan a series of negative television ads, featuring House Speaker Dennis Hastert fleeing a burning town, a scene lifted from the movie Sodom and Gomorrah. The commercial ends with a baritone voice-over annnouncing, “I’m God, and I approve this message.”

And just for good measure, to ensure that people who are ignorant of politics are also exposed to the scandal, Democrats are trying to get the Foley story into mainstream popular culture. For example, a new televison program in the works will be called Queer Black Eye For The GOP Guy.

And finally, DNC Chairman Howard Dean has personally asked George Soros to invest in a new Broadway production, La Cage Aux Foley.

1. Carville is brilliant.
And being married to GOP talking points author Mary Matalin helps him keep his edge. I bet he's coming up with campaign strategies until te day he croaks.

2. He nailed it...
...the voting public is more concerned about sex scandals and someone covering up wrongful sexual conduct than they are about Bush lying his neocon ass off about WMD in Iraq and sending thousands to their deaths.

I am shaking my head over all of this ~~ all the evil that Bush has done ~~ and it is what Foley did and Hasturd covering it up that gets any attention from the general public on how fucking evil these bastards are.

Not that I am unhappy about the mess the Foley scandal has caused these bastards, but what about such things as the lies that Bush put out about Iraq? All the evil Bush and his pals have done and it took Foley going after under-age pages to bring those bastards down. Not that they should not pay the price for this...but, geeeeeeeez, what took so long for the sheeple to wake up?

8. No Problemo.
Hey, you flatter me by thinking it was actually Carville; I guess I did successfully capture his voice.

Thanks.
