Wall Street Journal Writes Fiction Again on Its Editorial Page

....
What’s more astounding is that the Wall Street Journal editorial posted on June 6, 2006, still claims that the Niger uranium allegations were true. This is all the more remarkable considering that Vanity Fair just published an article in which 9 former intelligence and military officers, on the record, declared that the Niger uranium claims were a deliberately deceptive action taken on the part of the White House.

In what appears to be a coordinated attack on Fitzgerald’s credibility, the same day, June 6, a National Review columnist called for Fitzgerald to be replaced. Mark Levin, a right wing shill for a publication that wanted Clinton impeached for lying about his sex life, laughably claims “Somebody needs to bring some common sense and rationality to this case, and that somebody is Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Gonzales needs to clean up where former Attorney General John Ashcroft messed up, i.e., Ashcroft should not have recused himself under pressure from the likes of Chuck Schumer, which set the stage for the appointment of a special prosecutor.”

Yes, the Bush consigliere who has repeatedly lied to Congress, the lawyer who counsels and covers up illegalities should be in charge of investigating, according to a National Review shill, the outing of a CIA operative by the White House.

So the trial balloon has been floated. Rove is seeing if he can gain some traction for removing Fitzgerald from prosecuting PlameGate, especially since Fitzgerald may be on the verge of indicting Rove.
