robertson warns Pennsylvania of god's wrath
(mods, if this is a dupe, or in the wrong forum, I do apologize, but I hadn't seen it elsewhere)

from CNN:

<<Robertson warns Pennsylvania voters of God's wrath
Eight 'intelligent design' school board members lost election

Thursday, November 10, 2005; Posted: 5:27 p.m. EST (22:27 GMT)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson told citizens of a Pennsylvania town that they had rejected God by voting their school board out of office for supporting "intelligent design" and warned them Thursday not to be surprised if disaster struck.

Robertson, a former Republican presidential candidate and founder of the influential Christian Broadcasting Network and Christian Coalition, has made similar apocalyptic warnings and provocative statements before.

Last summer, he hit the headlines by calling for the assassination of leftist Venezuelan Present Hugo Chavez, one of President George W. Bush's most vocal international critics.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city," Robertson said on his daily television show broadcast from Virginia, "The 700 Club."

"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there," he said.>>

2. Radical Cleric Pat Robertson issues Fatwa on Infidel Voters
Fundamentalist Radical Clerics such as Falwell, Dobson, and Robertson are not merely medieval throwbacks or misguided religious hacks. They are part of a well organized subversionary movement known as "Dominionism".

Dominionism constitutes a serious threat to American Democracy. These Radical Clerics have developed and are executing a detailed plan to gradually replace the free, secular democratic society of the United States with a Theocracy.

It is critical that people become aware of the extreme agenda these people have for the United States and ultimately for the world. The results of the 2004 Presidential Election were not a fluke or something that was drummed up over a period of months. It has been in planning for over 20 years, and what we are seeing take place now is, in the words of Katherine Yurica, "the swift advance of a planned coup".

The articles below are critical for understanding the Dominionist movement; for realizing how real and how detailed their plans are; and to become aware of how far they have come toward achieving their goals.

4. Robertson, W's enabler
Yes, it's been posted here several times. Remember Pat said W was destined by God to lead America. The far right wingers is how W got elected, and now the GOP want to "divorce" them. Chaos in the GOP.

5. Bring it on, God
I have a few issues I'd like to discuss with you anyway.

Issue Number One: Why do you sit on your big, divine ass while idiot fuckheads like Robertson, Falwell, Dobson, and Bush presume to speak in your name.

7. I hope God has better things to do
Pat Robertson runs his religious empire the way a mobster would run a protection racket -- with God playing the role of the goon that Robertson sends out to rough up those who do not bow down to him and his political allies.

I would hope that, if there is a god, that he has better things to do with his time, and has a bit more self-respect, than would be required to be Pat Robertson's 'enforcer'.

8. Robertson single-handedly undermines ID proponents argument
ID proponents argue that ID is not based on religion. How can it be than that a looney fundie says its defeat is one that would anger god to the point that she would cause harm to the community?

Let's encourage this whack-job to keep on keeping on, just like he's doing, to help the demise of the repug/Christofascist coalition along.

16. thank you, profit pat, our country's leading prey evangelical...
thanks for showing once again that a religious fanatic is a religious fanatic is a religious fanatic. There's little to no difference between you and some murdering bug-eyed theo-fascist loon from the Middle East.

So tell me pat, how do you feel about conflict diamonds and barbaric, totalitarian African regimes? Who would Jesus enslave and torture? And while we're on the subject of Jesus and diamonds, does he use the same Cayman Islands numbered account(s) to shield his ill-gotten gains?
