Taking Out the Trash: Cheney Directly Involved In Leak Scandal
When will major media say a scandal that reaches all the way to and includes the Vice President is a "big deal"?? Or is the media rule for right wing GOP Pres and VP scandals that a well spun plant in the Saturday NY Times allows all other future stories on the VP's role to begin and end with "old news that has no legs", so no need to mention developements in print or on the air?

Taking Out the Trash: Cheney Directly Involved In Leak Scandal
Think Progress
Oct. 1, 2005

In today's New York Times an anonymous source reveals that Cheney was directly involved in the strategy to discredit former ambassador Joe Wilson: A lawyer who knows Mr. Libby's account said the administration efforts to limit the damage from Mr. Wilson's criticism extended as high as Mr. Cheney. This lawyer and others who spoke about the case asked that they not be identified because of grand jury secrecy rules.
On July 12, 2003, four days after his initial conversation with Ms. Miller, Mr. Libby consulted with Mr. Cheney about how to handle inquiries from journalists about the vice president's role in sending Mr. Wilson to Africa in early 2002 to investigate reports that Iraq was trying acquire nuclear material there for its weapons program, the person said.

This is an effort by the White House to reveal more details about Cheney's role on their own terms. The information was leaked to the New York Times on Saturday, the day when the fewest number of people read the paper. Also, it is presented in a way that makes Cheney's involvement sound innocuous as possible. <snip>

2. I don't know what to think anymore.
I've never seen anthing like this. Nothing touches them, so I guess we know that the Media has been controlled for decades. Only Democrats are to be hounded for scandal after scandal. When they are not guilty of anything, then make it up. Push it on the Cables and Print Media until the person is hounded out of Government.

The corruption is so massive that it's hard to see what can be done about it. Everything that's thrown at them comes back at us in misery.
One does wonder about the complicity of both parties at this point.
There's no one left to defend "THE PEOPLE."

I gues it is what it is. I don't expect much from Fitzgerald. He has a career ahead of him, maybe a nice wife and kids. Why should he bother?
If he indicts anyone, he will be harmed by being Swift Boated, Ronnie Earled and hounded out of ever working again.

5. I am optimistic
First there are rumors that the republican get campaign contributions
thru over paying the no bid contract awardees who then reimburse them
through campaign contributions. Now that the America people are finally waking up to the massive overcharging everywhere, the howls will turn
off the money machine, wasn't it 110 million for the ice fiasco.
