Justice, FBI probe Black's demotion RE: Abramoff

The Justice Department and FBI are investigating the demotion of the former head of federal prosecutions on Guam and in the Northern Mariana Islands.

The Inspector General, United States Department of Justice, enforces criminal and civil laws, regulations and ethical standards within DOJ by investigating individuals and organizations that allegedly are involved in financial, contractual or criminal misconduct in DOJ programs and operations.

The lingering question whether the former chief of federal prosecutions on island was demoted for investigating Jack Abramoff's lobbying activities for the Superior Court of Guam might be answered by an ongoing federal investigation.

The Department of Justice Inspector General and FBI are looking into the demotion of Frederick Black, The New York Times' Sept. 27 edition reported.
