Novak Takes a Leak

“Bob,” I said as I stood beside him, our positions before the porcelain similar, except that I stood a bit further back than he. “I wanted to ask you about the leak you took.”

“Yeah?” he responded, his words a bit slurred after a few rounds of Guinness and Goldschlager, his favorite combination. “What is it, Mark?”

“Listen, Mark,” he said, his voice gruff. “Sometimes in this business you have to go with your gut. Everything in my gut said to take that leak. I listen to my gut.”

I wasn’t convinced Novak was giving me the full story. I decided to appeal to his machismo. “Bob, I know you’ve got balls. That was a ballsy thing to do, taking that leak.”

“Having balls and taking leaks go hand in hand, Mark,” he said, his gaze still fixed downward.
