"Where will you be this September 11th?"
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 08:08 PM by CrackpotAmerica
. . .Beakons the homepage of the most transparent move toward blatant fascism I have ever witnessed from our government.

According to its main contributer, the Department of Defense, the event was organized to "allow(s) citizens the opportunity to remember the victims of September 11, honor our American servicemen and women past and present, and commemorate our freedom."

All that we need to do to be "allowed" to share our collective grief and honor our fallen and serving soldiers is sign our allegiance to the United States Department of Defense.

According to the website, the event is "free and open to anyone." That is to say, "The Freedom Walk is free and open to anyone who registers. Registration closes at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. There will be no on-site registrations the day of the event."

And lastly, the "freedom walk" will close with the grand finale, a free concert featuring the lyrical stylings of that great symbol of freedom, Clint Black.

We can all relish in the sanctity of our great American values with Mr. Blacks brilliant lyrical reflections on the American way of life, or, as he so eloquently muses:

"IT MIGHT BE A SMART BOMB
THEY FIND STUPID PEOPLE TOO
AND IF YOU STAND WITH THE LIKES OF SADDAM
ONE JUST MIGHT FIND YOU"

And who could forget this timely classic? :

"I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I'VE GOT INFRARED, I'VE GOT GPS AND I'VE GOT THAT GOOD OLD FASHIONED LEAD
THERE'S NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
SO BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD"

Every-body-now!

It escapes me how any reasonable man or woman on earth could think that he or she would slide this past the goalie (I'm talking directly to you, Mr. Rumsfeld.) But, once again, this administration never ceases to amaze me right down to the boots that apparently must be careful in their treading.

So, I'll tell you exactly where I'll be this September 11th, Mr. Rumsfeld. I'll be on the mall. I'll be the one holding the sign that says "THIS IS A FASCIST MARCH." As much as I would like to be within egg range of Clint Black when it's all over, I don't think I'll have the stomach for such a talentless imbecile.

One final note, just as with Mr. Rumsfeld, I can't find any record of Clint Black's military service. So, we have to assume that this first hand account of the infrared, GPS and lead having maverick refers to some fun weekend Mr. Black had playing guns in the back yard with his buddies.

1. I'll be watching football and trying to avoid the sickening exploitation -
The flags, the scantily clad red white and blue fake boob girls waiving sparklers, the moment of forced silence, and the "God bless America" every twenty minutes.

I just wish for once the United States could cool it and do a nice classy vigil. I'm sure there will be some across the country. I guess that's not for another ten years.

But, I'm watching football. Class has nothing to do with it.

7. I'll be in iraq, missing...
...my second wedding anniversary. we love each other very much and we're growing stronger together, but the sacrifice is real. my wife has struggled and cried a good deal. i've had some dark times. iraq is harsh, the experience is difficult at best. my health will never be the same.
just doing my duty, and holding out to be with my darling again.

can't wait to get home and see if i can help a little... good luck cindy!
