In this mornings paper hidden on the back page-----
We all heard about the "dud" gernade that was thrown at Bush in Georgia a few weeks ago. Well-hidden on the back pages of the Tampa Tribune, was an article that stated IT WAS A LIVE GERNADE. Now what idiot wants to have Cheney as a replacement president--I ask you.???

1. Actually the grenade was a dud - it failed to detonate
As opposed to a dummy or inert practice grenade, which contains no explosive material.

3. Interesting the way this seems to go the way of all other news...
First, the Georgian Police say it was a "training grenade," then the WH contradicts them and now says it was LIVE - an attack on His Royal Highness *...

Yaaaaaa.....riiiiiiiight....okaaaaaaay....

11. I have no idea what really happened or did not happen
The press gets things wrong, or prints what appears to be propaganda, so often I have very little faith anymore.

My comment concerns the meaning of the word "dud". I have seen several reports in which it was used to refer to an inert or dummy grenade, when actually the word properly means failed live ordnance. This morning's San Diego Union-Tribune has an article that states the device was a real grenade that failed to detonate due to a weak primer strike.

5. This is all BS
First they said it landed 300 feet away then 60 feet away

First it was a dud then it was real.

They're trying to gain sympathy for him

8. It's the approval ratings ...
... that are the dud for chimpy koo-koobananas. ANYTHING to get those numbers up, babes!

At this point, a story-spin like this is just pathetic.

9. First they said it was laying there
Now they are saying it was thrown.

If a grenade was thrown into a crowd that size (supposedly hit a young woman on the head), don't you think it would have caused quite a panic in the area?

And if a "policeman" picked it up and ran to a "safe" area, how the hell did he get through the crowd without causing any notice?

Something is wrong with this picture.

10. Cheney threw it. With his military history, couldn't tell if it was live.
