Bush Turns to Cheney to Sell Private Social Security Accounts
March 9 (Bloomberg) -- Vice President Dick Cheney has been President George W. Bush's go-to guy on national security. Now Bush is counting on Cheney to do the same on Social Security.

Cheney, who helped Bush sell his case for the war in Iraq and took the lead in formulating an energy policy, will make 10 to 15 trips across the nation over the next six weeks to try to rally support for the president's Social Security plan, administration officials said.

Starting as early as next week, Cheney will hold town hall- style meetings, including one with House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Thomas in Bakersfield, California, and do interviews with local media via satellite.

Cheney will divide his trips between appearances with Republican congressional leaders and visits to states such as Nebraska and Arkansas, home to Democratic senators such as Ben Nelson and Blanche Lincoln, who Bush is trying to persuade to support his plan, the administration officials said.

3. Cheney arguments won't work here
Sure it fooled people on national security, but nobody's going to fall for the line that terrorists will attack us if we don't privitize Social Security.

Victoria's Secret Offers Support to Washington Boobs
WASHINGTON--Victoria's Secret announced earlier today that it will provide President Bush with technical assistance as he embarks on a 60 day, 60 city tour to promote his plans to privatize Social Security. The company has offered the Bush administration full use of the patented technology in its new IPEX bra, which has raised the bar in the field of breast distortion and illusion.

"We've spent a tremendous amount of R&D money on learning to exaggerate boobs," said Jeffrey Wilman, Victoria's Secret's design chief. "This is really just another application of that same technology. You'd be amazed at what can be accomplished with a little lace and piano wire."

For his part, Bush said that he was happy to have the support of the company. "To tell you the truth, this sounds like a lot of fun," he said. "It reminds me of that time in my life that we don't discuss, when I snorted that stuff that we don't discuss when I was supposed to be on duty at that place we don't discuss. Good times."
