French media: Israelis aided Ivory Coast military in attacks

"Israel mercenaries assisting the Ivory Coast army operated unmanned aircraft that aided aerial bombings of a French base in the country," claimed French television station TF1 on Wednesday morning.
Le Monde newspaper also reported Wednesday that a group of 46 Israeli advisors operated an eavesdropping and intelligence center for the Ivory Coast military.

An Israeli defense source quoted Wednesday morning on Israel Radio said there is no truth to the French reports that Israelis assisted the Ivory Coast in its attacks on French military installations.

According to the source, the Israeli unmanned aircraft confiscated by the French in the Abidjan airport, had been legally sold to the Ivory Coast by a private company not connected to Israeli military industries.

Following the confiscation of the unmanned aircraft, France asked Israel to clarify the circumstances of their presence in the West African state and Israel promised to stop supplying the Ivory Coast with military equipment."

1. Where did you get this info?
I live in Paris, and am watching TF1 now. I haven't seen any of this about Israeli's assisting the Ivory Coast army. I also checked www.lemonde.fr and checked the Jeruselem Post at www.jpost.com and can't find any mention of these things.

"Israeli arms-dealers have assisted the army of the Ivory Coast with operating unmanned drones which helped soldiers attack a French military base in that country, a French television broadcaster reported Wednesday morning.

According to TF1, pictures taken from the drones allowed Ivory Coast soldiers to locate the French base and bombard it from the air, killing nine French soldiers and injuring another 23.

France then retaliated for the attack, which took place on November 5, by destroying two governmental warplanes. The French strike prompted angry mobs to take to the streets of Abidjan, the country's capital. Pro-government youths, carrying sticks, knives and axes walked the streets of Abidjan looking for French or other foreign nationals. Thousands of foreign nationals, including 30 Israelis, were evacuated from the Ivory Coast by the French Army.

Le Monde newspaper also reported Wednesday that a group of 46 Israelis have set up an base in Abidjan to gather intelligence for the Ivory Coast Army.
In response to the reports, the Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying "Israel is unaware of such a thing."

8. I didn't find that one before...
I went to JPost before and couldn't find it. I still haven't seen anything in Le Monde, or Figaro, or French TF1. Could it be possible I'm living in a different dimension in which Israel and America get our news first?
