50 US Soldiers Killed in Last Five Days
In a flurry of weekend press releases, the Department of Defense named another 20 US soldiers killed in Iraq. These deaths bring the total killed since November 8th to fifty. Such facts contradict the "official numbers" released to the unquestioning media.

Didn't his radio address make it seem 'Rosy'?

This was just this morning..............

Bush Paints Rosy Picture of Iraq Situation

WASHINGTON - President Bush painted a rosy picture of the situation in Iraq , claiming significant progress Saturday in the U.S. military's battle in an insurgent stronghold

11. Bush sees "rosy" where realists see blood red.
My deepest sympathies to 50 more American families devastated by senseless loss of loved one in the interests of Big Oil/Bush's ego.

5. I hate hearing about every soldier death.
As a veteran myself, every time I hear of a soldiers death in Iraq a tear forms in my eye for a moment. Every damn time.

8. Yes, I understand, especially when you realize that they are dying for
nothing....This is George Bush's little war...There is no reason for it...My heart aches for all the young American soldiers and Iraqi innocents dying needlessly...

20. I disagree...
the fact is, regardless of the roots of the war, the soldiers are there fighting it... I can guarantee to you that pretty much each and every soldier there will tell you that they are fighting for the guy next to him..

Soldiers don't walk around with a great big broad view in war... their war is generally confined to their personal experience and most will tell you they were fighting to keep themselves and the men next to them alive.

28. I agree with what you say about the soldiers and why they are fighting but
I still say, it is an unnecessary war, therefore, sadly, they are dying for nothing.

to remember the cost in human lives of this Cluster Fuck.

P.S. that includes 100,000 or so Iraqis slaughtered for oil and Cheney the draft-dodger.

How do I know? The same way I know that they're simultaneously claiming it's going faster and with less resistance, as they're making excuses that many of the insurgents left before the encirclement was complete. Wounded who die in Germany or en route to various places won't be tagged to this offensive offensive, and others will be sprinkled around, delayed and otherwise tucked away.

Once again, conservatives--who worship the past--have learned nothing from it.

As John Lennon put it: "shovellin' smoke with a pichfork in the wind..."

21. Why your kids are dying in Iraq
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 12:13 PM by jmcgowanjm
US has established three bases to guard the Mosul-Haifa pipeline

http://www.libertyforum.org/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=news_members&Number=293100108

And why this won't work;

TAJI, Iraq There's word that militants have attacked an
oil pipeline just north of Baghdad.
Witnesses report flames and heavy black smoke rising high
into the sky. The pipeline carries crude oil to a refinery in the
Iraqi capital.

Five U-S helicopters have been hovering nearby. But no
Iraqi security forces or firefighters have been spotted at
the scene of the fire.

Witnesses say insurgents have virtually taken control of the
town of Taji, which is about 12 miles north of Baghdad. They
say militants have been distributing leaflets warning people
not to leave their houses or open their
shops.
