Iraqis dispute US progress in Falluja
A spokesman for Falluja resistance says US forces are at an impasse in the city, and denied the US offensive against the town had succeeded.

Speaking to Aljazeera by telephone on Saturday, the spokesman said the US military was suffering increased casualties.

"The announcement of the end of the military offensive is proof that American forces are in an impasse ... the American criminals and the Iraqi apostates have suffered more than 150 killed and more than 270 wounded," said Abu Saad al-Dlimi, spokesman of the Shura (consultative) Council of the Muhajidin in Falluja.

"Today alone, young freedom fighters have been able to torch more than 12 vehicles," said the spokesman, adding that the situation had not changed for the past three days.

1. While this is war propaganda like our own here's a point:
<"If say they have wrapped up operations in Falluja, we are telling them that if that is true allow all satellite networks to enter the city this night so the world can see what is really happening in the streets of Falluja." >

2. Then there is this report from Jihad Unspun......
American occupiers employed loud speakers to request a cease fire in the city to begin negotiations. According to Islam Memo's correspondent, heavy US losses are the main reason behind the American request. In the mean time, the puppet Allawi government, in an effort to save face, announced that they want to save innocent lives. Interesting indeed considering the hospital were the first facilities to be taken out and it have been the US and their Allawi collaborators have are the ones who have prevented aid from reaching the city.

Observers in Fallujah believe that the large American contingency currently surrounded and under siege by Mujahideen in the city also factors in to the request to halt military confrontations. Friday was a big turning point in Mujahideen favor. In Al-Jumjuria street alone, there are more than 40 destroyed and burnt tanks. Furthermore, the attack which destroyed the ice factory which housed tons of equipment, mechanized vehicles, and munitions, put a big damper on U.S. operations in Fallujah. With a great deal of fireworks planned for Eid, the Americans would be smart to quit while they still can.

I'll let time tell.

3. This sounds like a very expensive battle
and the truth is somewhere between the US propaganda and the other side.

The part of the expense that can't be measured is the continuing loss of the reputation of the US.

bushie is putting the US deeper into debt (bankruptcy) --

Humm who would even want to clean up after him -- and yet if we wait to dethrone the chimpter -- I can't even imagine how bad it can possibly be in another 4 years.

4. I pray to God that the stories aren't true
I would naturally believe American officials over the 'enemy', but in this Chimpworld things are so turned upside down I no longer know what to believe.

9.  Bush just fires those who don't see his reality in the US

But in Iraq he has to kill them and there's a lot more over there that don't agree with him.:(
