Electronic Voting Machine Woes Reported
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Voters nationwide reported some 1,100 problems with electronic voting machines on Tuesday, including trouble choosing their intended candidates.

The e-voting glitches reported to the Election Protection Coalition, an umbrella group of volunteer poll monitors that set up a telephone hotline, included malfunctions blamed on everything from power outages to incompetent poll workers.

But there were also several dozen voters in six states — particularly Democrats in Florida — who said the wrong candidates appeared on their touch-screen machine's checkout screen, the coalition said.

In many cases, voters said they intended to select John Kerry (news - web sites) but when the computer asked them to verify the choice it showed them instead opting for President Bush (news - web sites), the group said.

1. Bev Harris-Voting without auditing. (Are we insane?)
Black Box Voting (.ORG) is conducting the largest Freedom
of Information action in history. At 8:30 p.m. Election Night,
Black Box Voting blanketed the U.S. with the first in a series
of public records requests, to obtain internal computer logs
and other documents from 3,000 individual counties
and townships. Networks called the election before
anyone bothered to perform even the most rudimentary
audit.

America: We have permission to say No to this. It is our
right.

2. Welcome to the Diebold Presidency....maybe?
Florida had numerous reports of electronic voting problems where a screen vote for Kerry was registered as a Bush vote.

NEVER SURRENDER. And, if we lose, then so be it. I'm already looking into relocation options in an EU country.
