Speaking in China, on a three-nation trip to Japan, China, and South Korea, earlier this week, the secretary said, 'Our policy is clear, there is only one China. Taiwan is not independent. It does not enjoy sovereignty as a nation, and that remains our policy, our firm policy

1. What army are we gonna fight China with right now?
Well I know it would be mostly Navy/ Air Force but still...

The US isn't interested in fighting that war right now.

12. Heh. Not when China is keeping our government running.
Forget the military question.

The real reason is that the US needs China to keep buying those treasury bills; you don't attack your Sugar Daddy.

2. Taiwan engaging in smoke and mirrors
This has been US policy since 1979. It is not news to Taiwan.

Food fights are okay however....

5. Colin, goodbye
Kerry gives lip service to his "respect" for you, but you've sold yourself out...everything you say is either out-of-sync with the people whose bidding you do or is an example of hopeless, unrivaled buffoonery (one of my favorite phrases!) No one who has served out a term with Bush deserves to be dogcatcher, not even you Colin...too bad, you might've made a good Secretary of State...RIGHT! And My Lai wasn't a big deal either.

Taiwan can't claim independence.

That's the One China policy and always has been.
