Sylvania Soldier Critically Injured In Iraq Attack (please Pray)
SYLVANIA--A Sylvania man is fighting for his life at this hour in an army hospital in Germany. 21-year-old Matthew Drake was seriously wounded when a car-bomb exploded at a U.S. patrol in Iraq Friday

http://www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=2447132

Matthew was rushed into surgery at a batallion hospital in Baghdad, then flown to a military hospital in Germany, where he is now in a coma and on life support. "The most severe wounds are to his upper right arm, to his neck, to his jaw, with an open fracture to the jaw. he does have a fractured skull and brain damage

At this point Matthew's Aunt Linda and his mother are planning to travel to Germany to see him, or to Walter Reed Army Hospital near Washington D.C., depending on if he is well enough to fly back to the states.

Sky Bank is starting a fund for Matthew Drake. Go to any Sky Bank in the area and make a donation in his honor. Money will be used to pay for expenses not covered by the military.

On Edit--- A prayer is needed for this young man------saigon

2. He doesn't sound well enough to travel, not at all
Another place to send money (as if there weren't enough already) is the Fisher House in Landstuhl, which houses in-coming stateside families in dire straits.

If you are ever asked to make a contribution to someone you know who has died, the Fisher House is a worthy option.

6. The maiming and killing of our young
always reminds me of this statement by Commodore J.R.McNamara : "I don't know why young men die...You think it would break the heart of God." This said at an honorary for men killed in Reagan's Grenada farce. We all know why young men die for the wrong causes. They are sent to be maimed or killed for power, Commodore. That's why young men die.

7. 21 and brain damaged by that bastard's war.
I'll try to suspend my disgust long enough to pray for this poor young man and his family.
