CBC: Americans flock to New Brunswick for flu shots
"Most of the people registering for a flu-shot clinic in St. Stephen, N.B., later this month are from the state of Maine, says pharmacist Valerie MacDonald.

" 'I've had a number of calls from American seniors, expressing a lot of anxiety about receiving the flu shot,' she said. 'So we try to accommodate as many as we can, but we don't want to not have supply for New Brunswickers.'"

3. How very unpatriotic!
The chimp said not to get a flu shot this year if you don't need one.

He says just show up, we're giving shots between appointments.

And oh yeah - it's free, too.

8. they're giving them away at my BC workplace
Both my workplaces, in fact! And my parents in Ontario are getting them too -- used to be just seniors, but for the past while the whole province has been eligible for free vaccine if they want it.

7. Got 'em from a different company...
Aventis, I think. Canada didn't buy from the British company with the contaminated vaccine (whose name I can't recall, obviously).

I'll bet when the dust settles we'll discover that all sorts of filthy stuff was going on around the British company--cheap prices via inadequate QA, perhaps.

Not that Canada can claim any great wisdom in choosing imports--we're the ones who bought those deathtrap British subs.

:grr:

Of course the "public service" media would never breathe a hint of this inevitable development. It is news when people try to save their lives by grabbing the closest life preserver?

Bush, the idiot, mentioned vaguely some deal with Canada- in the same debate where he dissed the prescriptions from Canada. Canada has an ID program should they get alarmed by a vaccination exodus from the America. Canada has only a million and a half know extra doses. Should, much later, it be known that many Canadians(willing to take the risk of SARS and the flu) not get their shots, there will be stocks available late in the season, but why should they simply release those to the US? We can't even redistribute the doses we have before the black market sets in. Our New Third World Order.

They may be willing to send some emergency shipments in certain circumstances, but once again, we are talking both about the hostile Bush administration AND the soothing ignorance of the media.

What about Mexico for that matter? What about rich Americans? Using their Bush tax cuts to buy shots and travel to Switzerland for doses?

And I would give whatever I had left, unfortunately close to 0, to have someone do a facial lie read on Bush when he claimed he would not be getting a shot this year- protected crowds or not, remembering how his Dad got debilitated in Japan during election year. There are expensive alternatives, did he disavow them. Drugs and nasal spray(unhealthy considering the condition of his nose) once again are available mostly to the rich and insured.

Then again finding a clear statement when Bush is telling the truth is hard to find as a cross reference. It appeared to be he was being deceptive by over exaggeration, the same as the coward was during the Anthrax outbreak.
