UN employees demanding staff pullout from Iraq
UNITED NATIONS Two associations of United Nations workers are urging Secretary-General Kofi Annan to withdraw all U-N staffers from Iraq.

The groups, representing 60-thousand U-N employees, say the country is too dangerous for staffers.

In a letter to Annan, they cite a rising level of kidnappings, killings and bombings in Iraq. And they say the U-N is becoming a target.

Annan removed the U-N's international staff from Iraq last year after two bombings of its Baghdad headquarters. He sent a small contingent back to Iraq in August, but no country has offered troops for a special protection force.

2. Oh come on now ...
Things are going going great over there! Bush and Cheney have told us it is peachy-keen and rosy. So we must trust them.

That blurb was just more vile, DemocRAT spin!

They probably, actually said they want the staffers to take some vacation time and get some R&R. Maybe go to church and praise the Lord.

---> Sorry, I wanted to beat the Freeps to a neat, delusional response ;)

3. do we call the situation in Iraq "out of control" or just "spinning out
of control"

I read some article by a reporter this past weekend that reporters are no longer covering stories there as it is too dangerous. Those reporters that were in private houses have moved into highly guarded hotels. The reporters are basically in hiding in their hotels in Baghdad and never go out with the troops, or walks or anything.

6. Wrong!
Fidzi has offered 200 warriors to protect UN staff.

(For background: Fidzi pulled it's state mercenaries out from the Coalition because US tried to cheat in their pay IIRC.)
