Edwards: Bush Campaign Exploiting 9/11
Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards (news - web sites) on Sunday accused Republicans of an immoral attempt to divide the nation by taking partisan advantage of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Speaking to several hundred people at New St. Paul Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, the North Carolina senator criticized a Republican group's ad that portrays Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) as soft on terrorism.

"The truth is they're trying to exploit one of our nation's greatest tragedies for personal gain. It is immoral, and it is wrong," Edwards said. "This isn't a Republican issue or a Democratic issue."

Edwards said everyone is united on doing whatever is necessary to protect the country from terrorism.

4. Despicable...that's the name of the response ad from the Kerry campaign
Here's a link:

http://mfile.akamai.com/10211/wmv/johnkerry.download.akamai.com/10211/092604_despicable_wmv_dsl.wvx

From the article:

The ad, which is airing in Iowa and Wisconsin, shows Sept. 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta, al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) and deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) and references terrorist attacks in Russia, Spain and the United States. It asks, "Would you trust Kerry against these fanatic killers?"

It's not the first time these "despicable" tactics have been used in this Presidential campaign:

8. He's responding to a Republican attack ad

Edwards said everyone is united on doing whatever is necessary to protect the country from terrorism.

The ad, which is airing at least in Iowa and Wisconsin, shows Sept. 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta, al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) and other terrorists, and shows pictures of terrorist attacks in Russia, Spain and the United States, including wreckage from the World Trade Center towers. It asks, "Would you trust Kerry against these fanatic killers?" and says "President Bush (news - web sites) didn't start this war, but he will finish it."

The ad is paid for by Progress for America Voter Fund, an affiliate of a group created by Tony Feather, a longtime Republican consultant and former Bush aide. The group, like similar organizations on the Democratic side working to elect Kerry, operates independently from the Bush campaign and is barred from having contact with his advisers.

When are Kerry/Edwards or a friggen 527 gonna call Bush on his FAILURE to protect America on 911?! When this happens, we'll stop seeing these ads.

10. I am not sure why that qualifies as "news"
News usually means something new. This is something that they have been doing since the first moment it happened.

11. Fact: Bu$h allowed 9/11 to happen. 9/11 was not well planned by the
terrorists, and a vigilant leader like John Kerry would have prevented this attack on US soil.

Think about this for a moment: No matter what anyone, or any commission, says, the obvious fact is that a 10 yr. old could understand that an aircraft could, and would, be used as a weapon to attack the US.

9/11 was an inexcusable lapse that resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent Americans , and the blame lies squarely on Bu$h's shoulders. The only thing he could have done worse was to deliberately allow it to happen - and 9/11 was such a colossal, totally unbelievably stupid error in judgement on Bu$h's part that it indeed appears that he deliberately allowed terrorists to attack us.

Unfortunately, we don't have a 10 yr. old in office - we have Bu$h, who is, literally, incapable of leading his dog Barney without a leash, let alone a nation.

If President Gore had been in the WH on 9/11, there would have been no terrorist attack on American soil, just like there was no attack on American soil under President Clinton.

The terrorists were very pleased when Bu$h took office. They knew he was an ignorant fool and took quick advantage of his inability to protect the people of the US.

Bu$h is either selling our country out deliberately or he is a complete fool.

Either way, we have to vote him out in November, or he will most certainly destroy our country.
