US soldier drowns, another killed by gunshot in Iraq

A US soldier from the 3rd Armoured Cavalry Regiment drowned in the Euphrates river at about 10.30 pm IST on Saturday near Ramadi, 100 km west of Baghdad, the US Central Command said on Sunday.
His body was found Sunday morning, a Centcom statement added, but no further details were available.

Earlier, a military spokesman said another soldier from the 3rd Armoured Cavalry Regiment died of a non-combat gunshot wound in Baghdad on Saturday.

Was earlier thread about soldiers being baptized in Iraq! (In the Tigris) BTW - What's with all these "non-combat" gunshot wounds? Code-word for suicide?
